This article does not contain many actions done by NK, mostly things that have happened to her.

The subject of this article largely organizes local, student protests and does not meet the standards of WP:N. We do not have a wikipedia page for every student activist.

Often this article focuses on the actions of other, notable entities, such as Act.IL, rather than the actions of NK. We're left with a persecutory narrative of a student organizer that flirts between WP:PROMO and WP:SCANDAL via the actions of more notable entities.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Iamnotanorange~enwiki (talkcontribs) 19:31, 23 May 2025 (UTC)

:Keep Per WP:BASIC, Kiswani is clearly notable, as evidenced by substantial coverage in multiple RS, including NYT, The Forward, Middle East Eye, Al Jazeera, Times of Israel, NBC News, etc. Rainsage (talk) 22:59, 23 May 2025 (UTC)

::@Rainsage- most of those article feature WOL and have a passing interest with Kiswani as a controversial figure that people have reacted to strongly.

::However, I’m not sure we can point to much that she’s done, besides be the subject of various internet controversies. What can we talk about besides making AOC angry and having an email campaign against her? A few protests? Ok, if that’s it then we should focus on WOL. DuckOfOrange (talk) 03:17, 27 May 2025 (UTC)

:::most of this article is about Kiswani, not WOL. Rainsage (talk) 03:48, 28 May 2025 (UTC)

:Keep. Frivolous AfD after much disruptive editing and repeated, unsuccessful POV pushing. إيان (talk) 23:22, 23 May 2025 (UTC)

::Always great to hear from you @إيان. Hope all is well. DuckOfOrange (talk) 03:14, 27 May 2025 (UTC)

  • Keep significant coverage across many established national sources, [https://www.nytimes.com/2024/10/05/us/within-our-lifetime-pro-palestinian-activism.html this NYT piece] is especially in-depth. Subject is clearly not run of the mill student activist or only of local interest. Zzz plant (talk) 16:48, 24 May 2025 (UTC)
  • :@Zzz plant- that NYtimes piece is actually a good example of how WOL is notable, but Kiswani is less notable. The piece is about her organization, not her.
  • :In WP:Run-of-the-mill they give an example of a local strip mall that is important to locals, but not anyone else. I think that might describe Kiswani. She organizes local student protests and says some inflammatory stuff on twitter, but otherwise she’s small time. This is a New York, college phenomenon.
  • :I stumbled on her page while editing unrelated content (lively / baldoni stuff) and before that time had personally never encountered a news article about her. However, I had a cursory name recognition for WOL. I’ve never met a person who knows the name Nerdeen Kiswani. DuckOfOrange (talk) 03:14, 27 May 2025 (UTC)
  • Keep significant coverage from both sides of the aisle (Mondoweiss and Jerusalem Post) among many other RS. Furthermore there are many non-WOL notable details about her in this article. Closetside (talk) 03:32, 25 May 2025 (UTC)
  • :@Closetside - I originally held this view, but now I’m not so sure. Much of it seems small IMO and the bigger stuff does not have Kiswani as the primary actor. It’s more about how someone sent emails to her dean, or the police broke up a protest, or someone accused her of antisemitism.
  • :I’m not part of this protest / IP conflict world, but in my view it seems like a lot of college drama, not anything big. At one point I was debating someone about including a sentence where a local legislator withheld 50k in student funding and I’m sorry but that’s so small potatoes. What are we doing here?
  • :I know there are articles about her, but they’re more about her work through WOL and the reaction therein. Maybe it would make sense to merge with WOL?
  • :It we want to keep this article, I’m going to need some help pivoting so she is the subject of her own story, instead of writing about AOC’s reaction to something she did. DuckOfOrange (talk) 03:06, 27 May 2025 (UTC)
