  • COMMENT: Huttenbach's military career, as known, may be unremarkable, but someone thought he was worth a DSO (and an Italian award). The DSO is a 2nd level gallantry award, which I read elsewhere is a qualification for "notability". Folks at 137 (talk) 09:30, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
  • No, one requires two second-level awards for notability. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:34, 14 January 2015 (UTC)
  • Please advise where that requirement is documented. Folks at 137 (talk) 17:36, 15 January 2015 (UTC)
  • Try WP:SOLDIER, which while not official is the standard guideline used by those of us who edit such articles. Many, many thousands of DSOs have been awarded. We certainly will never consider all recipients notable. Where did you see that we did? -- Necrothesp (talk) 19:11, 17 January 2015 (UTC)

  • Keep "DSO OBE MC" is a pretty good medal grouping. Even if you want to argue that none of these medals by itself merits inclusion (and this may be in doubt with regard to the DSO), you cannot argue that the grouping as a whole, with wartime service, is unnotable, given that notability is largely additive. WP:SOLDIER is very narrow anyway. Le petit fromage (talk) 10:23, 14 January 2015 (UTC)
  • Delete for failing SOLDIER. Notability is not "largely additive". Appears to have had a distinguished, but "unremarkable" career. Clarityfiend (talk) 12:53, 14 January 2015 (UTC)
  • Delete per WP:GNG subject lacks significant coverage in reliable sources so regardless of what appears to be a commendable career he isn't notable. Anotherclown (talk) 05:43, 15 January 2015 (UTC)
  • Delete - not seeing the significant coverage per GNG to merit an article at the moment. The major source is the Life Story on IWM website which looks to have assembled (by a relative going by the name) out of fragments in other works. One of these fragments: [https://livesofthefirstworldwar.org/lifestory/5194256#evidence "Then he went to Gallipoli, a captain of a RHA battery and received an MC for an action that not only involved controlling the fire of a whole Divisional artillery but of two warships as well."] by Rex Niven might lead to something. I note also article appears to be an orphan with no incoming links which ought to be addressed. GraemeLeggett (talk) 12:07, 17 January 2015 (UTC)
  • Delete. Insufficient references from reliable sources to support notability.  B E C K Y S A Y L E 02:43, 21 January 2015 (UTC)
