This article suffers from problematic sources. The first and third sources only mention "Gardner" or "a man named Gardner". The second source mentions a gunman named "Pliney Gardiner", but that's it. The only thing I could find about this "Gardiner" was that he was probably once married to a person named [http://books.google.com/books?id=xSQ2AQAAIAAJ&pg=PA322&lpg=PA322&dq=pliney+gardiner&source=bl&ots=woawuna9KZ&sig=Pd9WYq1XojTKlIjxhJqB6_hiMS8&hl=en&sa=X&ei=334ZUc3kNezpigLJ-IHYAQ&ved=0CFMQ6AEwBQ#v=onepage&q=pliny%20gardiner&f=false Eleanor]. As it stands, most of the article appears to be a work of the author's imagination. FallingGravity (talk) 23:32, 11 February 2013 (UTC)

- Delete My view isn't as harsh as the nominator's. However the subject seems to be a very minor figure, being known as a gangster and then a saloon owner. That and repeatedly telling us what a bad, tough character he was don't really make him notable, even if the sources were better. But give the author credit for trying. - Delete - I tried searching for the two books at Google Books and I found a result for [http://books.google.com/books?id=afPkCbU7QsQC&pg=PA93&dq=Gunfighters,+Highwaymen,+and+Vigilantes:+Violence+on+the+Frontier+Pliney+Gardiner+were+all+arrested+in+Aurora&hl=en&sa=X&ei=rWYyUdCyNMnTqAHqtICABw&ved=0CC8Q6AEwAA#v=onepage&q=Gunfighters%2C%20Highwaymen%2C%20and%20Vigilantes%3A%20Violence%20on%20the%20Frontier%20Pliney%20Gardiner%20were%20all%20arrested%20in%20Aurora&f=false Gunfighters, Highwaymen & Vigilantes: Violence on the Frontier] but not for the second book (no relevant preview). I also found [https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&gl=us&tbm=nws&q=Pliney+Gardner+Old+West&oq=Pliney+Gardner+Old+West&gs_l=news-cc.3..43j43i400.830.6040.0.6176.41.12.2.22.0.0.282.1290.9j0j3.12.0...0.0...1ac.1.VEmFqm8QggE#hl=en&gl=us&q=Pliney%20Gardner%20Old%20West%20Oasis%20Hills%20Ferry&um=1&psj=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=pw&psj=1&ei=OGoyUajgNYKwrQGmvYC4DQ&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.&fp=f79f47bc6dd80ec5&biw=1200&bih=640 this] which at some point says "It was owned by a man named Gardner". Despite performing multiple Google News and Google Books, there really doesn't seem to be much about him and he didn't accomplish anything notable. The first reference supports he shot a man to death in 1859 but the charges were dropped and it only mentions him that one time. SwisterTwister talk 21:09, 2 March 2013 (UTC)
