While this sounds like a great organization, the article has remained completely unsourced. I searched Google to see if I could rectify that, but I was unable to find any reliable, secondary sources on the organization to establish notabilty. LadyofShalott 16:48, 24 May 2011 (UTC)

  • Comment You can find a lot of independent coverage [http://www.rbsp.org/news-and-reviews.aspx here], however, all the articles were published by local Pittsburgh newspapers. [http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/11101/1138526-53.stm An article] by Pittsburgh Post-Gazette (April 2011) ranks Renaissance & Baroque among "small music organizations" (together with Bach Choir of Pittsburgh, Chatham Baroque, Pittsburgh Camerata and Pittsburgh Chamber Music Society). It seems that Renaissance & Baroque is rather a local organization. On the other hand, there's clearly a possibility to write an informative article based on reliable sources, and we have quite populated categories covering local culture subjects and events, see :Category:Performing arts in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and :Category:Culture of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. --Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 07:02, 25 May 2011 (UTC)

::Arguably major arts organizations in Paris, London or New York are also largely reviewed by the 'local' press, given that they are static unlike arts performers. Do we have any similar articles about music promoting organizations in other cities? --Kleinzach 09:06, 25 May 2011 (UTC)

:::Of course, see [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special%3ASearch&search=music+society&fulltext=Search]. --Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 09:32, 25 May 2011 (UTC)

  • Keep, I now understand the society is mentioned in Grove Music (Ida Reed and Robert Croan. "Pittsburgh." Oxford Music Online, www.oxfordmusiconline.com/subscriber/article/grove/music/21869.) --Kleinzach 00:02, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
  • Keep (albeit a weakish one). I've added the Grove reference + a couple more and have fleshed out the article a bit. I gather from [http://www.clpgh.org/research/music/pittsburgh/ohmp/ this] that if anyone wants to spend time in the archives of the 'Oral History of Music in Pittsburgh' project at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, they could find more on the society's history. • Keep The article is now in a good shape and well referenced. --Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 11:59, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
