Not notable.

Online searches have found no sources independent of the subject of the article.

Article history shows no substantial changes or edits by anyone other than the article's creator. Issues raised in February 2011, shortly after the article was created, do not appear to be addressed: it's an orphan, it cites no sources independent of the article's subject, it promotes the subject in a subjective manner. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hmee2 (talkcontribs) 13:18, 3 November 2019 (UTC)

  • KEEP He is a bestselling writer. Did anyone who read what he has accomplished listed in the Huffington Post [https://www.huffingtonpost.ca/author/richard-smith/] doubt he is notable? Dream Focus 18:59, 11 November 2019 (UTC)
  • Comments. Without taking sides, an online search would be difficult for a newbie much less a teacher with two graduate degrees and 12 years' experience on Wikipedia; in addition to several other Rick Smiths on Wikipedia, there's the Axon guy, a baseball player, and a police chief with the same name. • Comment WP:AUTHOR I cannot confirm where he was a bestselling author. It matters. It is a claim repeated, however it was not NY Times. So not sure it confers notability. [https://www.huffingtonpost.ca/author/richard-smith/ Huffington Post reads like a resume and does not look to have editorial oversight]. Wm335td (talk) 22:09, 15 November 2019 (UTC)
