Roberto Cruz Alano is a Barangay Captain in Manila. This means that he is in charge of the Barangay, the lowest level of administrative politics in the Philippines. There are 42,011 Barangays in the Philippines. This person does NOT pass WP:NPOL. He has not been part of any major events, wars, scandals, elections, viral moments, or anything beyond the run of the mill city initiatives. Parts of this article subtly feel like violations of WP:NOTPROMO, particularly the section about his "social media to connect with constituents" and all of the info about local initiatives. • Delete per nom. None of the references in the article demonstrate notability of the subject. Ref#1 is a spreadsheet document from the DILG, containing complete list of local government officials in the National Capital Region. Ref#2 is a citation to the Wikipedia article Moonwalk, Parañaque, which is a violation of WP:CIRCULAR. Ref#3 cites the subject's Facebook account, which violates both WP:PRIMARY and WP:ABOUTSELF. Ref#4, while from the Manila Bulletin, only offers a passing mention of the subject and does not meet the threshold for WP:SIGCOV. In a nutshell, none of these sources make the subject pass WP:GNG and WP:SIGCOV. Additionally, WP:NPOL made it clear that by {{tq|just being an elected local official...does not guarantee notability.|quotes=yes}} AstrooKai (Talk) 13:55, 24 April 2025 (UTC)
  • Delete per nom. Perhaps there are non-English language resources but a search for citations to demonstrate WP:NBIO turned up nothing reliable. Vegantics (talk) 16:33, 24 April 2025 (UTC)
  • Delete agreeing mostly with AstrooKai 's analysis, ref 1 being just a general info on gov officials, ref 2 being more about the location of governance rather than the subject itself, as for Ref#4 yes it is indeed from one of the more established News institution in the Philippines, upon closer look, mentions actually the successor of the subject rather than the subject himself.Villkomoses (talk) 14:28, 25 April 2025 (UTC)
  • Delete fails WP:NPOL --Lenticel (talk) 00:54, 28 April 2025 (UTC)
  • Comment, as I keep seeing this argument "delete fails WP:NPOL". Failing WP:NPOL is not an automatic pass for deletion: "Just being an elected local official, or an unelected candidate for political office, does not guarantee notability, although such people can still be notable if they meet the general notability guideline" (emphasis mine). The opposite does not hold, "The following are presumed to be notable", so WP:GNG can be bypassed for someone who passes WP:NPOL. For this guy he does not pass WP:GNG either. • :Thanks for explaining that to me -- I'll make sure to take that into account in future AfDs. AnonymousScholar49 (talk) 00:53, 30 April 2025 (UTC)
  • Delete This is a low level bureaucrat, he does not rise to WP:NPOL. Also, it only links to a few bad sources, including another Wikipedia page and a Facebook link. Gjb0zWxOb (talk) 20:04, 29 April 2025 (UTC)
