Mormon author with some books published on a tiny Mormon-only press, so tiny that Amazon.com and other booksellers do not carry any of its titles. No independent reliable sources demonstrating any notability. The awards this author created also has demonstrated no notability, and has given out two "lifetime achievement awards", one to Orson Scott Card (the only prominent Mormon author) and one to someone also published through this tuiny press nobody has heard of and who, oddly, is also on the award committee. • Delete because he's not notable, not because of his religion. (I don't see the reason to use the word "Mormon" three times in the deletion nomination.) Northwestgnome (talk) 04:20, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
  • Keep I added several third party citations establishing notability. I'd also like to point out that just because a literary market is niche doesn't mean that no one has ever heard of it (as DreamGuy claims) or even that it's tiny. See the article on LDS_fiction. —Preceding unsigned comment added by CagedFury (talkcontribs) 19:12, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
  • Comment was able to find [http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=ntt_at_ep_srch/192-5751603-0047822?ie=UTF8&search-alias=books&field-author=Robison+E.+Wells this author on Amazon] quite easily. This incorrect claim was also recently made on a related AfD at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kerry Blair. This appears to be a trend, as is the repeated use of "Mormon" is if it were a pejorative. -- 208.81.184.4 (talk) 02:06, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

:Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Whitney Awards also seems to be related to this AfD. -- 208.81.184.4 (talk) 02:31, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

::Also a quick [http://www.amazon.com/gp/search/ref=sr_adv_b/?search-alias=stripbooks&unfiltered=1&field-publisher=%22Covenant+Communications%22&sort=relevancerank&Adv-Srch-Books-Submit.x=32&Adv-Srch-Books-Submit.y=10 search of Amazon for "Covenant Communications"] yields 1,530 Results, so Covenant Communications books are sold on Amazon, counter to the claim in the AfD. -- 208.81.184.4 (talk) 02:58, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

  • Keep. Notable because he has been the subject of published secondary source material, Deseret Morning News among others. – jaksmata 14:24, 30 July 2009 (UTC)
  • Keep - This may very well be a niche printing company, but LDS (Mormon) members make up the 4th largest Christian denomination in the USA. Notability established.--StormRider 16:11, 30 July 2009 (UTC)
  • comment There seems to be some debate over whether or not sources such as Deseret News are sufficiently 3rd party to establish notablity for this and a number of other Mormon related articles. I've added the Rescue tag, hopefully if we get references from other sources it will render that debate irrelevant. Artw (talk) 21:36, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
