A baseball pitcher. Drafted in the 45th by the Brewers. Hasn't gone above Rookie ball. Article says he is going to play A ball this year, but I haven't found proof. Prod was contested Bgwhite (talk) 22:05, 22 February 2012 (UTC)

  • Delete Though it appears he's an active minor league player, I strongly oppose a merge to Milwaukee Brewers minor league players in this case. That page is meant for players who appear close to notability, but may not break that threshold yet (top prospects, high draft picks, players on 40 man rosters, etc.). A 45th rounder with no sourcing should be deleted, not merged. – Muboshgu (talk) 22:10, 22 February 2012 (UTC)
  • I take back his "apparent" active status, as HBWS brings to light that this article is a hoax. Speedy delete this per G3. – Muboshgu (talk) 19:27, 24 February 2012 (UTC)
  • Don't delete. Mr. Nawrocki is a notable minor league player and upcoming prospect in the Brewers organization. He is a hometown hero for Fort Wayne and has accomplished a lot, with more yet to come. --Mizzoufan24 (talk) 22:59, 22 February 2012 (UTC)

::Luckily there's [http://baseball.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page another wiki] that would love to have this article. Feel free to copy it there. If Ryan ever makes it to the majors or receives significant media coverage, the article can easily be recreated here. -Drdisque (talk) 03:28, 23 February 2012 (UTC)

  • Delete. Seems to be a hoax article. Both stat links on this article go to pages for Jake Odorizzi, and no player named Nawrocki shows up on the rosters or stat pages for any of the Brewers' affiliates last year. The article's claim that "Nawrocki" was a 45th-round pick by the Brewers in 2010 similarly fails to stand up to scrutiny - the actual player [http://www.baseball-reference.com/draft/index.cgi?year_ID=2010&draft_round=45&draft_type=junreg&query_type=year_round selected with that pick] was a high school pitcher from Texas named Lucas Moran, who did not sign with Milwaukee. -Hit bull, win steak(Moo!) 20:57, 23 February 2012 (UTC)

:*I'm also kind of embarrassed that nobody who commented on this AFD before me apparently bothered to check the sources on "Nawrocki", since doing so would have demonstrated that the article was an obvious fake. Do your DD next time, guys. -Hit bull, win steak(Moo!) 20:59, 23 February 2012 (UTC)

::*Wow, you're right. I thought it was a clear delete without bothering to confirm he existed. – Muboshgu (talk) 19:27, 24 February 2012 (UTC)

  • Don't Delete. Contrary to the user above, I found a "Ryan Nawrocki" on several minor league baseball databases, AND on the roster for his current team. --Airforceblue15 (talk) 18:46, 24 February 2012 (UTC)
  • Comment I've opened up a sockpuppetry investigation relating to this hoax page and the other, Corey P. Hughes. – Muboshgu (talk) 19:58, 24 February 2012 (UTC)
