Redundant to other articles, such as Syria and Syrian Civil War. It's topic is defined as the "territories de jure belonging to the Ba'athist Syrian Arab Republic", which is the same as our article on Syria. Srnec (talk) 23:00, 11 August 2018 (UTC)
- Keep as necessary fork for ongoing conflict - ignore the vague name. Syria and Syrian Civil War are very heavy parent articles and forks are needed here. Obviously not lacking in coverage - articles on these territories are regular.[https://www.aljazeera.com/indepth/interactive/2015/05/syria-country-divided-150529144229467.html] —МандичкаYO 😜 00:05, 12 August 2018 (UTC)

- Delete per nom; an unnecessary content fork. power~enwiki (π, ν) 16:52, 12 August 2018 (UTC)
- Delete per nom. If meant to define the "territories de jure belonging to the Ba'athist Syrian Arab Republic", then this is obviously already covered in Syria. If meant to describe the territorial changes throughout the civil war, then well, Syrian Civil War already covers that. As of now, the article looks like a redundant content fork on a topic which is unlikely to gain enough importance to merit an article on its own. I guess not even a redirect would work, as "Syrian territories" is just too vague and ambiguous as a descriptor. Impru20talk 10:03, 13 August 2018 (UTC)

- Strong keep - on the course of the Syrian War (2011-present), the Syrian Arab Republic lost control of a large portion of its territory to various forces - including Syrian opposition affiliated rebel groups, Jihadist groups, the Democratic Federation of Northern Syria and Turkish occupation of Northern Syria. More than 1/3 of former Syria are still not under the control of the Syrian Arab Republic. The topic of control of Syrian territories is clearly notable via multiple publications [http://tass.com/world/1014990][https://aawsat.com/english/home/article/1349711/sochi-focuses-aid-return-syrian-refugees][https://sputniknews.com/analysis/201808031066917418-syria-kurds-thaw/]. - Delete. The name is vague but clearly can be fixed. The underlying concept however is also vague and the need is unclear. This is a bit akin to the river island in WP:GEOLAND: rather dynamic for an entry. The topic is already covered well by the combination of the country article and Syrian civil war. gidonb (talk) 05:10, 18 August 2018 (UTC)

- Comment this is still an obvious and strong delete from my view. Syria (region) is a page that describes what the editors claim this page is about, and the specific topic of "territorial control in the Syrian Civil War" is described at many other pages, but not this one. power~enwiki (π, ν) 02:12, 19 August 2018 (UTC)
