This article is merely someone's essay which pulls facts from various related articles. It is highly opiniated and if the subject was notable enough for an article it would need a complete restart anyways. This article is a stain on wikipedia and should be removed today, not in a week. • Delete Very problematic on many fronts. The title screams WP:CRYSTAL, and borders on synthesis of original ideas, which itself could be edited around, but at its core, it is still an essay and no editing can change a forward looking essay about the "future" of a country into a criteria that would allow keeping. Nice attempt, but not here. Dennis Brown (talk) 17:32, 12 April 2011 (UTC)
  • Delete - WP:NOTESSAY. An encyclopedia is not a forum for personal observation and speculative musings. Tarc (talk) 17:37, 12 April 2011 (UTC)

:::SAVE Guys, please. I just wrote this article for my class. You can delete it and burn it...but can my professor just see it first? It's not going to be the best of the best, but I put a lot of work into it. Can you wait until after the semester ends? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dinkydoggy (talkcontribs) 21:54, 12 April 2011 (UTC)

::::Man! I read your comments again. It is an essay, and I used a lot of other peoples' opinions and stuff. It's not like there are facts about the future of Iraq. Give me some slack! Put it on the speedy deletion list next week. The semester ends in a week! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dinkydoggy (talkcontribs) 21:59, 12 April 2011 (UTC)

  • Delete With all due respect to Dinkydoggy, we don't keep articles that don't meet our standards just so users can complete homework assignments. Print it out now before its deleted, or ask an adminstrator to userfy it for you. Or cut and paste it into your sandbox page for your professor to see. It doesn't belong in Wikipedia's main space. Sorry. Cullen328 (talk) 23:17, 12 April 2011 (UTC)

::Oh my goodness. I printed it out and the whole 9 yards. What are you guys, like the Wikipedia police or something? You make me sound so pathetic like I just slapped something on "your" site to hurt the Wikipedia world. Do you want me to apologize? Should I write a page about my public remorse and how I've learned my lesson? ...or will you trash that one too? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dinkydoggy (talkcontribs) 23:39, 12 April 2011 (UTC)

:::Wikipedia is self policing by all editors, so in a way, yes, but no more the police than you or anyone else. To the rest of your questions: No, No and Yes. Dennis Brown (talk) 18:02, 13 April 2011 (UTC)

  • Response There is no need to apologize, Dinkydoggy, because we assume that you were acting in good faith, and didn't fully understand our policies. We aren't the Wikipedia police, just some volunteers who try to maintain our standards so the this encyclopedia will be as useful as possible for its users. Good luck with your course. :::Thanks Cullen, now I don't feel so lame for getting a Wikipedia page deleted! It's ended on a good note to say the least...thank you for your kindness. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dinkydoggy (talkcontribs) 01:20, 13 April 2011 (UTC)

::::Dinkydoggy, I bet you learned a lot about writing a Wikipedia article during this process. Although the content wasn't up to our standards, your formatting is fine, and that graphic is beautiful. Why don't you stick around, study our policies a bit, and maybe write a worthwhile article that will be kept? Feel free to ask questions on my talk page. I wish you well. Cullen328 (talk) 01:37, 13 April 2011 (UTC)

:::::When you submit your assignment to your professor, you might consider discussing how your assignment involved interacting with the site's users and learning some of the rules and procedures that are not obvious to casual readers. Even though wikipedia can't keep your article, your professor might appreciate the learning that you did about wikipedia. Wikipedia itself is a topic of academic study, see for instance this course at Harvard[http://cyber.law.harvard.edu/is2011/Assignment_1_Details_and_Reporting]. Best of luck.
