Non-notable former minor league baseball figure. Did not reach majors as either a player or manager and played only five games at the highest level of minor league baseball, Triple-A. His political career does not seem very notable. Alex (talk) 11:56, 1 September 2011 (UTC)

- Merge with Danny Murtaugh. Some concern that statements about the baseball player's political career are a case of combining a person just because their name is the same per Wikipedia:Don't build the Frankenstein. I only definitively sourced that the baseball player also worked for attorney general Jerry Kilgore. Most of the sources for his baseball career start with the fact that he is the son of Danny. His political career doesnt generate enough coverage about him personally and doesnt meet WP:POLITICIAN, although he is often quoted as Kilgore's spokesperson. While one could argue that Murtaugh has enough significant sources to meet WP:GNG as a baseball player, his WP:IMPACT seems primarily to be as his father's son. GNG allows that "Editors may reach a consensus that although a topic meets this criterion, it is not appropriate for a stand-alone article." There are enough accomplishments to merge into his father's article. —Bagumba (talk) 21:34, 1 September 2011 (UTC)

- Keep Based on the sources available, I think there is enough to meet GNG, though the article needs quite a bit of work. Murtaugh apparently also served as a spokesman for George Allen,[http://pqasb.pqarchiver.com/washingtonpost/access/60888994.html?dids=60888994:60888994&FMT=ABS&FMTS=ABS:FT&type=current&date=Sep+23%2C+2000&author=Michael+D.+Shear%3B+Ann+O%27Hanlon&pub=The+Washington+Post&desc=Robb%2C+Allen+Camps+Clash+on+Roads%2C+Schools&pqatl=google] and was part of the effort to bring an MLB team to Northern Virginia (source already in article). – Muboshgu (talk) 18:56, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
