The result was delete. After all this discussion, I find the consensus is that the sources presented are not sufficient evidence of significant coverage to justify a BLP. Courcelles (talk) 16:41, 20 March 2023 (UTC)

While their claim is interesting, can't find enough in-depth coverage from independent, reliable sources to show they pass WP:GNG. Onel5969 TT me 12:00, 26 February 2023 (UTC)

comment what is significant to you? I saw CNN. BlackAmerican (talk) 21:50, 26 February 2023 (UTC)
:@BlackAmerican Significant coverage means detailed coverage not significant news source. 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐭𝟕𝟐𝟖🧙♂️Let's Talk ! 06:25, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
:Keep as he has been covered personally by a widespread Indian news source, as well as in CNN, per the references in the article. BhamBoi (talk) 21:57, 26 February 2023 (UTC)
::Being covered in news sources doesn't passes Wikipedia:GNG. They should have significant coverage also. 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐭𝟕𝟐𝟖🧙♂️Let's Talk ! 16:11, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
:::HISTORY[https://www.facebook.com/historytv18ind/videos/record-degree-collector/2609656265735337] and Doordarshan[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5O2vTWi4KTc] pages exist that are specifically about him. Also another article specifically about him is [https://laughingcolours.com/vn-parthibanmulti-talented-professor-chennai-145-academic-degrees-165016/ here]. I also think he may be notable for [https://www.thehindu.com/todays-paper/tp-features/tp-downtown/lifetime-achievement-award-for-teacher/article7620150.ece this award]. Clear SIGCOV in multiple sources, and I think he could have cut it even without these additional sources as being profiled by CNN and other Indian national sources is pretty notable. BhamBoi (talk) 07:20, 4 March 2023 (UTC)
::::See also yet another article about him, this time in the The New Indian Express: [https://www.newindianexpress.com/cities/chennai/2017/nov/07/this-56-year-old-has-140-degrees-wants-to-acquire-more-1694931.html This 56-year-old has 140 degrees, wants to acquire more] BhamBoi (talk) 07:22, 4 March 2023 (UTC)
:::::Found more! All these from different tweaked Google searches, so please make sure to WP:BEFORE. - Delete For all the claimed the degrees, the subject does not seem to have even one article with a meager 10 citations, giving them an h10 index of... 0. Jeppiz (talk) 15:36, 26 February 2023 (UTC)
::comment I saw more than that. I believe that there is more about him in Hindi. BlackAmerican (talk) 21:50, 26 February 2023 (UTC)
:::Yes I saw hindi sources but there is no significant coverage in that language articles. 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐭𝟕𝟐𝟖🧙♂️Let's Talk ! 06:27, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
Strong Keep Most degrees in the world, has significant coverage. Does work outside of attaining degrees. BlackAmerican (talk) 21:50, 26 February 2023 (UTC)
::Why is none of that referenced in the article, then? Can you provide some of that 'significant coverage'? Jeppiz (talk) 22:18, 26 February 2023 (UTC)
- Delete The press coverage barely rises to silly season status, with mediocre websites copying each other. Self-published self-help books aren't a reliable basis for an encyclopedia article, either. XOR'easter (talk) 22:34, 26 February 2023 (UTC)
- Comment. A sensible alternative to deletion might be a redirect to perpetual student. At the risk of getting into WP:WHATABOUT, we do have some other, similar articles, for example Benjamin Bolger and Michael Nicholson (academic). (There are more linked from the perpetual student article.) Russ Woodroofe (talk) 16:56, 28 February 2023 (UTC)
- Redirect to perpetual student as alternative to deletion. I think that the relevant guideline here may be WP:BLP1E, as while there is some coverage that appears at first to meet GNG, all the news coverage appears to be essentially the same (junky, human interest) story. - Delete I find no coverage of the individual. Claiming to have 140 + degrees and proof in RS that he does have them are two different things; nothing for wikipedia. Oaktree b (talk) 19:25, 5 March 2023 (UTC)
