• Oppose rename There is no consistency among the subcategories of :Category:Expatriate military units and formations. I'd recommend nominating all of them for rename to a uniform convention. {{pb}} Since this dicussion has also become about the subcategories rather than the nominated category itslef, I will bundle them into this CfD. –LaundryPizza03 (dc̄) 23:04, 12 December 2023 (UTC)

Austrian military personnel is the top of a big tree (18 subcats), and it already has subcategories by war, by city, by century, cause of death, ranks. Why can't it have a subcategory by the origin of the soldiers? It's a concept documented in the sources of those articles, just like these other characteristics are.
