:The result of the discussion was: merge/rename from "closed" to "nominated" "former". There is unanimous agreement that there needs to be a merge, but no consensus on what direction to merge. This is a WP:BARTENDER close; there is absolutely no prejudice against a rename nomination. As far as arguments go, the "closed" supporters argued that some things might be miscategorized as "former" when the articles are about places which happened to have been military bases in the past (as opposed to articles about military bases which are now closed). Those supporting "closed" disagreed that there would be ambiguity. Neither argument is particularly strong. As far as numbers, we have one who supports using "closed", one who supports using "former", and one who has no preference. Also a dead end. I am going with "former" simply because that was the original nomination; again, please feel free to open a rename nomination. "Former" could mistakenly be taken to mean that the article is about the site of the previous military installation (possibly including after closure and current use), not about the notable period of military activity at the site which has ended. However, I cannot think of any examples where {{u|Buckshot06}}'s concerns would lead to pages being miscategorised or categories being unhelpfully misinterpreted. I therefore think that there is insufficient reason to use "Closed" as an exception to the predominant use of "Former" in this hierarchy.

:::However, there is another widespread alternative: "Defunct", which is used for 21 of 59 sub-cats in :Category:Former buildings and structures by type. Personally, I would prefer to use "Former" throughout, but some editors have expressed a clear preference for "Defunct" in certain cases, and I would not object to it. • There is no need for a proposal, as Lutilodix is accepted as a junior synonym of Fanulena and stated as such in the authoritative database WoRMS (https://www.marinespecies.org/aphia.php?p=taxdetails&id=818257). The category:Lutilodix has no longer any purpose as it has no content. Therefore I've deleted this category as a C1 - unpopulated categories. --JoJan (talk) 16:36, 28 September 2024 (UTC)

:Nominator's rationale: Underpopulated stub category with little prospect of expansion to the required size. As always, stub categories are not free for just any user to create on a whim for any topic of personal interest -- there have to be at least 60 articles to file in a stub category before it can be created, and for that very reason stub categories have to be proposed to Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting for discussion before they can be created. But this was never proposed for discussion, and there's only one article here with no prospect of finding 59 others quickly: the mainspace category {{cl|Furry fandom}} doesn't even contain 60 articles total across it and all of its subcategories combined, and what it does contain isn't all (or even mostly) stubs.
The template isn't as much of a problem -- the minimum bar for a stub template isn't 60 articles, as templates can file articles into higher-level stub categories in the meantime even if they don't yet have enough articles to get their own dedicated category. So I'm fine with keeping it if somebody can think of an appropriate higher-level category that it can be moved to -- but as a stub template does have to file its entries somewhere, it also has to be deleted if a replacement stub category can't be found. • Oppose rename. Support splitting articles on people to :Category:Comics retailers (people). I think we should be able to standardise around adding (people) for the articles about people. There are several others of these under :Category:Retailers by type of merchandise sold, and most are not book stores. I also think "bookshop" is probably not the best target name.
