Join us on Sunday July 30, 2017 for the AfroCROWD BLERD City Wikipedia Editathon @ BLERD City Con, a Wikipedia learn to edit hackathon!

Please note, this event is for participants attending the [https://www.eventbrite.com/e/blerd-city-con-tickets-35335342962?utm-medium=discovery&utm-campaign=social&utm-content=attendeeshare&aff=escb&utm-source=cp&utm-term=listing BLERD City Conference].

The Afro Free Culture Crowdsourcing Wikimedia (AfroCROWD) project will host an edit-a-thon at the BLERD (Back Girl Nerd) City Conference entitled AfroCROWD: Bringing the Digital Footprints of the African Diaspora with Wikipedia. BLERD City Con, is a 2-day conference taking place July 29 - 30, 2017 celebrating the Nerd in you through panels and workshops of Art, Science, Film, Comic Books, and Technology with 5 venues in the Dumbo area of Brooklyn, New York making you truly feel like a BLERD take over.

This will be a great way to not only nerd out on black history, but a great way to connect with others who are interested in the same. We'll also have coaches on hand to help you get started with your first history making Wikipedia entry, and if you are already someone who edits Wikipedia, we can help you figure out, with some useful hacks, how to help your entries stand the test of time. BLERD City Con is led by AfroCROWD supporter and Wikipedia editor, Clairesa Clay.
