WP:FAKEARTICLE about fringe physics theory invented by Wikipedia user and self-published. Abandoned years ago and account has no other contributions. jni (delete)...just not interested 17:38, 23 February 2014 (UTC)
No this description of the theory is untrue; it was not 'self-published'; it was published by Pan Stanford Publishing; the only reason I didn't work on the page was due to negative feedback from some other users; There are now two books on this topic, I am happy to do the work if it were to be published as part of wikipedia Tfleming111Tfleming111 (talk) 21:37, 23 February 2014 (UTC)
I don't understand what your descriptor {WP:FAKEARTICLE}
is all about; this is definitely NOT a 'fakearticle'; explain what you are talking about; better still read something about the content before you go trampling around someone's work
- Delete. Wikipedia is not a means of promoting or legitimizing fringe theories. MER-C 07:18, 24 February 2014 (UTC)
- Delete. Mr Fleming, you wrote on your user page "Wikipedia should be a good way to spread the news of this breakthrough." No, sorry, that is not what an encyclopedia is for. One of Wikipedia's fundamental policies is Wikipedia:No original research, which includes:
"If no reliable third-party sources can be found on a topic, Wikipedia should not have an article about it. If you discover something new, Wikipedia is not the place to announce such a discovery."
:The reference WP:FAKEARTICLE is to part of the Wikipedia:User page policy, which says that "Userspace is not a free web host and should not be used to indefinitely host pages that look like articles..." JohnCD (talk) 20:36, 2 March 2014 (UTC)
