AVM explained on my talk page that they personally know the CEO of Smartmatic. Unlike the other users, I believe that AVM is not a sockpuppet and just participated in the talk page for such personal reasons. AVM did not make any edits to the article like the other sockpuppets and only expressed their opinion. Like someone said below, AVM has contributed to various topics involving Venezuela and others compared to the other accounts that have been blocked.--ZiaLater (talk) 11:07, 24 December 2016 (UTC)

- The following accounts are {{confirmed}} to each other:
- {{checkuser|Smmtt}}
- {{checkuser|Ciudadania Digital}}
- {{checkuser|Some.voter}}
- {{checkuser|E.Parisca}}
- MauricioAlexander is {{possilikely}} to the above accounts.
- {{checkuser|AVM}} is technically {{possilikely}} to the above accounts and behaviorally persuasive in my view. More input on the behavioral evidence connecting AVM to this group would be helpful.
- I've blocked the confirmed accounts without tags.--Bbb23 (talk) 16:43, 22 December 2016 (UTC)
- Accounts tagged. There's an intermix and possibly a connection between AVM and Smartmatic, but a connection between AVM and the master is unlikely in my opinion. AVM covers some wider Venezuelan topics unlike the master. On Talk:Smartmatic:
- {{talkquote|ZiaLater , I just published the best reference to validate Smartmatic was initially founded in 2000 in Delaware, USA: the incorporation certificate of the company. After that first registration, Smartmatic opened offices in more than 20 countries, so you will find subsidiaries in all of those countries. If you have a document to prove Smartmatic was founded elsewhere, please share it with the Wikipedia community.}} --Smmtt's comments reads like this.
- {{talkquote|By consensus?? Gee, where did you get your Law degree, if any? By that reasoning, you could also accuse any corporation, such as Procter & Gamble for instance, of operating "in a dubious manner", and that in your opinion, it could be by consensus "declared a Mexican company" (because it has a manufacturing & sales presence there, too, according to "reliable sources"). Splendid! Brilliant! What would happen to Wikipedia in the hands of "contributors" like this one?}} --Whereas AVM's reads like this
- I'd say on the off-chance that maybe Smmtt was an account created, for dedicated editing to Smartmatic but that's a long stretch and AGF comes first, and CU data doesn't exactly suggest a match. I think MauricioAlexander is potentially a sockpuppet, but the hazy CU information and one edit doesn't prove anything, so I'd say wait till edit. --QEDK (愛) 18:13, 23 December 2016 (UTC)
- MauricioAlexander has potentially gone under. Socks blocked, nothing more to do. QEDK (愛) 18:12, 31 December 2016 (UTC)

The article for Smartmatic has had sockpuppet and COI edits before (see Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Smmtt/Archive - WP:COIN Archive 108, Archive 109 and Archive 111.1 and Archive 111.2). I have placed User:Smmtt as a precaution since they have been blocked and they may have used other users to continue their work.
However, the strongest evidence of sockpuppetry is between User:Vanjpadilla (V) and User:Regz0912 (R). Both users were created approximately 2 months apart in 2013 (V in May 2013 and R in July 2013). Both have only edited the Smartmatic article [V][R], with each of [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Smartmatic&type=revision&diff=767869980&oldid=767866702 their edits being performed consecutively]. In WP:COIN Archive 111, it was established that V was a "[https://web.archive.org/web/20170302040845/http://vanjpadilla.com/2014/11/16/election-2016-how-safe-is-our-automated-election-system/ Digital PR Strategist, Online Reputation Manager]" who [http://vanjpadilla.com/2014/11/16/election-2016-how-safe-is-our-automated-election-system/ had met with Smartmatic]. It also appears that V and R [https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Philippines_collaboration_with_Indonesia_August_2016_-_2.jpg have met in person before after this image was found on the commons] (Comment: I am not attempting to out anyone). This may make this less about sockpuppets and more about colleagues or a group making dubious edits together and only goes to show how deep edits on the Smartmatic article may go.
Another user of interest is User:E-DemSnoopy, with their account being created almost a month-to-the-date after [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Log/block&page=User%3ASmmtt the original sockpuppet Smmtt was blocked]. Since then, edits by the user have been performed on other articles, though the user always returns to Smartmatic. Their edits are not as contentious as others, but I added this user as a precaution.
As for User:Carriedelvalle23, I reviewed their edits after I saw a [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Smartmatic&type=revision&diff=782373750&oldid=781797442 tag on this edit saying "possible conflict of interest"]. This user writes on Medium [https://medium.com/@carriedelvalle23 promoting Smartmatic and has disseminated Venezuelan government claims of voter fraud] (oddly they state that Smartmatic is a "Venezuelan firm" as well, a highly contested statement reverted in numerous edits by various COI and sockpuppets). The Carrie account was created days after E-DemSnoopy went under for a period of time. Noting here again, I am not attempting to out anyone, though [https://www.facebook.com/people/Mary-Jean-Valle/100001812112327 there is a Mary Jean del Valle who had worked at Smartmatic in the Phillipines] (Mary → Carrie?). Since the username and the name given in the Medium articles is hardly traceable, it is possible that this is an assumed name used solely for internet purposes.
To those involved, this is what I have been working with to maintain the integrity of Wikipedia. This is not a personal attack, this is my attempt to safeguard this article from dubious edits. To other users and possible admins reviewing this, I highly suggest making an extended-confirmed lock on this article to prevent further interference. I am being accused of trying to push a POV in this article with these edits, though I am trying to prevent a fairly elaborate attempt of whitewashing the Smartmatic article. This maybe should be moved to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Smmtt. - Bri (talk) 03:31, 1 July 2017 (UTC)
User:ZiaLater the evidence claiming this is a sock puppet account because my username is somehow tied to a former employee named “Mary Jean Valle” is just inaccurate. My name is not actually Carrie Del Valle, just like your actual name is not ZiaLater. As you can see in the talk page of the article, each edit I made is backed up by multiple sources. None of the edits made are an attempt to “whitewash.” If you have questions about the individual edits please bring those up in the Smartmatic talk page. :Just thought it should be noted that [http://raissarobles.blogspot.com/2009/10/pssssssst-smartmatic-glad-you-wrote-to.html Smartmatic has been using journalists from the Philippines to do PR work], attempting to [http://www.ellentordesillas.com/2009/10/11/smartmatics-indecent-proposal/ hire a journalist from] the Filipino newspaper Malaya. The source may not be the best, but it at least sheds light on the COI issues with the Smartmatic article since multiple journalists/bloggers from the Philippines have been editing the page. Like what I stated above, in the WP:COIN Archive 111, it was established that one Wikipedia account (Vanjpadilla) was a "[https://web.archive.org/web/20170302040845/http://vanjpadilla.com/2014/11/16/election-2016-how-safe-is-our-automated-election-system/ Digital PR Strategist, Online Reputation Manager]" who [http://vanjpadilla.com/2014/11/16/election-2016-how-safe-is-our-automated-election-system/ had met with Smartmatic, writing an article about the encounter]. I would just like to note this for future reference if other issues arise. There is a Smartmatic COI notice also posted for those interested as well.--ZiaLater (talk) 00:42, 7 July 2017 (UTC)
User:ZiaLater Hope the results of the investigation have reassured you that I am not a sockpuppet (neither I am related to any other editors, nor I have a hidden-agenda) as I had already explained to you during all our WP interactions. Also hope it has helped you put your mind to rest on this whole issue, so we can all continue to make Wikipedia a better and safer place for new editors. I know I am a new editor, and I might have some difficulties to edit as much (as good and as frequently) as I would like to in my free time, but I hope senior editors like you, let me now come back to collaborate/edit many of the articles I have been collecting references for. Thank you! (Note, as we have already discussed, I hope I can now come back to edit freely the Smartmatic article, among all the others I have edited on topics I like to research, without being falsely accused of Sock-puppetry or having a COI. Thanks). E-DemSnoopy (talk) 14:31, 15 July 2017 (UTC)
