{{Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/navigation|WP:NLF|WP:NON-LEAGUE}}

The primary goal of this project to improve the quality of articles related to English non-league football. It is hoped that this project will help to focus the efforts of Wikipedians interested in English non-league football. If you would like to help, have a look at the projects and tasks lower down the page, or inquire on the talk page.

Some of the articles supported by the English non-league task force have reached featured article or featured list status (FA and FL, respectively), meaning they are amongst the very best content in Wikipedia. They are listed below; a bold title indicates the article was "today's featured article" or "today's featured list" for the date listed. Also included here are articles that are featured article candidates (FAC) that failed, those that have undergone peer review (PR) as part of an effort to get them to FA status, and those that have achieved good article (GA) status, the next-highest level of quality.

{{Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/English non-league task force/To do}}

  1. Reduce number of clubs stubs: (see :Category:English football club stubs) As of 14 May 2015 there are around 284 (414, 352, 327, 318, 286, 276, 247, 215, 174, 157, 137, 123) English non-league football club stubs (26 extant clubs). If all participants aimed to make one club article per day non-stub, then it would not take long (5 days to be precise!). Things a club page should have to be made non-stub:
  2. * Details of league played in, and rough geographic location (county/borough).
  3. * Completed infobox
  4. * Brief history, honours list and club records ([http://www.fchd.info/ Football Club History Database] is useful here, but always cite your sources)
  5. * Link to club website
  6. * League template (where there is one – see here for current list)
  7. : See [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Lutterworth_Athletic_F.C.&oldid=507686796 Lutterworth Athletic F.C.] for an example of an article with the minimum for non-stub status.
  8. : Letter of month: B There are just two extant non-league club stubs starting with the letter B: Belper United F.C., Broadfields United F.C.
  9. : In the past the project has de-stubbed all of the extant clubs starting with E, J and R!
  10. * See Club stubs by league for a list of clubs by league.
  11. Expand league articles: Any league article should include:
  12. * {{tl|Infobox football league}}
  13. * Geographic area covered
  14. * Current number of divisions / teams.
  15. * Recent champions, if not all.
  16. * League template (for all divisions), plus promotion/relegation info
  17. * External link
  18. * A list of stub league articles can be found at :Category:English football competition stubs (as of 14 May 2015 there are 98)
  19. * Most of the articles for leagues at level 10 or below are so far only start class. Midland Football Alliance is an example of what to eventually aim for.
  20. Create all season articles for Step 3–4 (levels 7–8): 225/253 (89%)''' – as of 23 December 2013
  21. *Northern Premier League – 48/48 (100%) {{done}}
  22. *Southern Football League – 113/113 (100%) {{done}}
  23. *Isthmian League – 101/101 (100%) {{done}}
  24. Add club badges for every team down to level 10: 611/611 (100%)''' – as of 2 December 2012
  25. *All step 9–10 leagues {{done}}
  26. *See the list of club articles needing badges for which articles need attention

Please feel free to add any new projects you think the taskforce should focus on.

[[File:Stub manutenzione.png|20px]] Adopt an article

Similar to the Collaboration of the week, but on a smaller scale, you might want to "adopt" an article. This would involve doing the research, writing, and picture-taking (if possible) for either a non-existent article or a stub. Of course, everyone else can still edit an adopted article, and you can work on other things too, but the idea is to find a focus for a while, to try and build up the number of quality articles the Project has produced.
