Welcome to the assessment department of the Serbia WikiProject! This department focuses on assessing the quality of Wikipedia's articles about Serbia. While much of the work is done in conjunction with the WP:1.0 program, the article ratings are also used within the project itself to aid in recognizing excellent contributions and identifying topics in need of further work.

The ratings are done in a distributed fashion through parameters in the {{tl|WikiProject Serbia}} project banner; this causes the articles to be placed in the appropriate sub-categories of :Category:Serbia articles by quality, which serves as the foundation for an [http://toolserver.org/~enwp10/bin/list2.fcgi?projecta=Serbia automatically generated worklist].

; How can I get my article rated? : Please list it in the section for assessment requests below.

; Who can assess articles? : Any member of the Serbia WikiProject is free to add or change the rating of an article.

; Why didn't the reviewer leave any comments? : Unfortunately, due to the volume of articles that need to be assessed, we are unable to leave detailed comments in most cases. If you have particular questions, you might ask the person who assessed the article; they will usually be happy to provide you with their reasoning.

; What if I don't agree with a rating? : You can list it in the section for assessment requests below, and someone will take a look at it. Alternately, you can ask any member of the project to rate the article again.

; Aren't the ratings subjective? : Yes, they are, but it's the best system we've been able to devise; if you have a better idea, please don't hesitate to let us know!

After assessing an article's quality, comments on the assessment can be added either to the article's talk page or to the /Comments subpage which will appear as a link next to the assessment. Adding comments will add the article to :Category:Serbia articles with comments.

=B-class assessment notes=

B-Class articles may be reviewed by any user with no restrictions whatsoever. However, editors are urged to perform such an assessment strictly adhering to the B-Class article.

The B6 criterion is normally interpreted conforming to Wikipedia:TECHNICAL guideline: Every reasonable attempt should be made to ensure that material is presented in the most widely understandable manner possible. By extension, for the purposes of the WikiProject Serbia fulfillment of this criterion also means that an average Wikipedia user with no specific knowledge about Serbia and/or the Serbs will be able to understand the context of the article and extract useful information (ideally, even insight) from it. For example, a well-written article on a historical topic will have a "Background" section where necessary, rather than just springing right off into details of the event.

An article may be assessed as a B-Class article only if it meets all six criteria listed above. If the article fails one or more of the above criteria and surpasses Start-Class quality requirements, it should be assessed as a C-Class article. The Start-Class and the C-Class requirements are listed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Serbia/Assessment.

If the assessed article fails B-Class criteria, a To-do list should be created (or updated if it already exists) on the article's talk page showing the list of improvements suggested for the article. It is created and formatted using the {{tl|Todo}} template. The list is maintained by editors, writers, reviewers or readers like you as a way to focus your collaborative efforts. As such, they represent a tentative consensus that helps improve the efficiency of the editing process. A To-do list for this page may look like this:

::The article is still a stub because it does not "provide enough sources to establish verifiability" which is one of the major requests for Start class. If you add a couple of sources on Dedijer the article will meet criteria for Start class. --Antidiskriminator (talk) 06:29, 16 July 2013 (UTC)

::This article isn't relevant to WikiProject Serbia. I know more than a year has passed since this request, but I was just browsing and wondering if this can be removed?   • Holy League (1684) - Article has been expanded with many new sources, it is at least a start class now and needs reassessment. Thepipemaster (talk) 03:27, 9 December 2020 (UTC)
  • Pesma za Evroviziju '23 - Requesting a reassesment as pze and its editions are quite notable in Serbia and potentially other ex-Yugoslav republics, but not outside of it. I would argue that its importance should be labeled as Mid ImStevan (talk) 09:32, 15 March 2023 (UTC)
