Request for Feedback from WikiProject Eastern Orthodoxy

{{Hello! I recently created this article on Bishop Andrei (Hoarște), a bishop in the Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of America. I would appreciate any feedback on improving the article, especially in terms of sources, structure, and overall completeness.

If anyone has additional sources or suggestions for expansion, please feel free to contribute. Thank you!

Consolidating American Orthodox footers?

I wanted someone else's opinion on if we should make a footer of all the Orthodox church dioceses in America. I just got finished with ROCOR's template and noticed that it was a part of the Russian Orthodox Church template. There is also one for the OCA, and GOArch is part of the Ecumenical Diocese footer. I just don't want to make too many infoboxes for articles that are not very filled in yet, but if there are other Orthodox in America or relevant that may think it's useful I would love your insight as well. Thank you Alexthegod5 (talk) Alexthegod5 (talk) 14:16, 11 March 2025 (UTC)

Rename proposal for early patriarchs of Alexandria

The proposal is to remove "pope" from article titles of patriarchs of Alexandria for the period before the 536 schism (i.e. before the present Coptic Orthodox Church was established), and replace it with "patriarch". This is meant to reconcile the contradiction between MOS:POPES and MOS:PATRI, amongst other things. See discussion here. NLeeuw (talk) 07:07, 29 May 2025 (UTC)

"women's monasteries"

"Klyuchegorsky Kazan Mother of God Monastery is a former women's monastery" ... "the monastery became the second most significant women's monastery" ... "Putilova's intent to found a women's monastery", etc. That and more (all in the new article Klyuchegorsky Kazan Mother of God Monastery) sounded odd to me, as I'd thought that "monasteries" were for monks and "nunneries" for nuns. OTOH I realize that I know squat about religion, monasticism, etc, so I thought I'd better check before rewording.

:Category:Nunneries tells us "The main article for this category is Nunnery." However, Nunnery merely redirects to Convent, an article that (i) doesn't mention "nunnery" or "nunneries", but (ii) tells the reader that convents aren't only for women.

I don't know what is amiss here, but am pretty sure that something is. Over to you. -- Hoary (talk) 22:33, 17 June 2025 (UTC)
