Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. (again)
He was a champion playing for the Portugal under-15 team, does he already have the notoriety to have his own article? It seems to me that it is only a matter of time. Svartner (talk) 17:44, 18 May 2025 (UTC)
:No. GiantSnowman 21:05, 18 May 2025 (UTC)
:While I disagree with the old WP:NFOOTY for other reasons, it definitely had a point with a line in the sand for football notability being playing in a senior league. It brings up a good paradox - if these kids of professionals are really such generational talents of youth football, why aren't they in senior football yet? Amateur Teams
It's just a question, but will there be a problem if I create pages for Brazilian amateur teams? Will it not be deleted due to lack of notability? Jose the Engine (talk) 20:52, 30 May 2025 (UTC)
:Pages on amateur teams are likely to be deleted unless there is significant detailed coverage. — Jkudlick ⚓ (talk) 21:08, 30 May 2025 (UTC)
See WP:MILL. Few amateur teams in Brazil have enough notoriety to warrant an article, I recommend that you submit it as a draft. Svartner (talk) 02:04, 5 June 2025 (UTC)
France-Guatemala
I find 2 matches between Guatemala and France (1976 and 1986) but for Guatemala, just 1 official in 1976 (1976 olympic games) whereas for France, no official games. Lists of Premier League footballers by club
Have lists like Tottenham Hotspur F.C. Premier League player list been discussed before some where? Given that List of Tottenham Hotspur F.C. players exists, a separate list covering just the Premier League seems redundant. Sir Sputnik (talk) 00:41, 3 June 2025 (UTC)
:I honestly don't see the point of the first list, it's just copying a cat in list form with a few stats. I've never really been fond of these player lists, to me they are somewhat compiled original research, which also breaches WP:NOSTATS! So I would delete the premier league list for breaching OR, NOSTATS and content forking. As for the second list You can get use from that. Saying these are the most notable players with 100 caps because.. or something along those grounds with prose to explain why certain players hold these titles and why the club revere them. Would make it better. I've yet to see any good list, even the List of Manchester United F.C. players which is FL is not good enough in my opinion. Regards, Govvy (talk) 10:28, 3 June 2025 (UTC)
:I think this list is not needed, and would be far better covered by a Category if it was decided that this set of players is important. As mentioned above, this would seem to be WP:OR and WP:NOTSTATS. Spike 'em (talk) 11:26, 3 June 2025 (UTC)
What's going on with Soccerway?
Anyone else notice that Soccerway's layout and format has been changed? I can't find stats about players there :( --SuperJew (talk) 06:27, 4 June 2025 (UTC)

::Yup I noticed the search feature isn't working at all. I managed to get into players profiles by searching on Google the name + Soccerway and then at least I could get the birthdate which I needed for listing on current national squad. --SuperJew (talk) 07:23, 4 June 2025 (UTC)

Stadium moves
@Hako33 is moving several Spanish stadiums to an English-based name without consensus, i.e. :Estadio Alfonso Murube to :Alfonso Murube Stadium, :La Romareda to :La Romareda Stadium or even :Campos de Sport de El Sardinero to :El Sardinero Stadium. I don't think this is the correct approach, honestly. Thoughts? BRDude70 (talk) 19:13, 4 June 2025 (UTC)
:I have manually reverted all moves and advised the user to actually open a WP:RM. I believe this is the best approach to this, since it's not consensus to actually make those names "all English". BRDude70 (talk) 19:27, 4 June 2025 (UTC)
::{{re|BrazilianDude70}} Given the user's warnings last month, I think this might actually be worth an ANI with a request for a block on the ability to move. Forest Hill Park/SE Dons
Wanted to get some opinions on how to deal with this situation: Forest Hill Park is an established non-league club who played in the Southern Counties East League for around a decade. Last year they merged with a Sunday league team called SE Dons, and the merged club has now been renamed to SE Dons F.C. However, someone created a separate article on SE Dons.
Having two articles seems to be a bit excessive (particularly as I'm not sure SE Dons are really notable in their own right), so I was thinking of moving the Forest Hill Park article to SE Dons F.C. and setting it out similar to Felixstowe & Walton United where there is a history of each of the two clubs that merged and then details of the post-merger one. Any objections to that approach? Number 57 00:27, 5 June 2025 (UTC)
[[Wikipedia:Proposed deletion|Proposed deletion]] of [[:Stade Balibiè]]
The article :Stade Balibiè has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Tagged as Unreferenced and unimproved for 15 and 1/2 years. No other language has a reliably sourced article from which to translate. Zero hits on Google news, newspapers, and books. Lacks significant coverage in reliable sources, with only directory listings.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{Tlc|proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{Tlc|proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. EFL Trophy notability guidelines
Hi all, just wondering if a player who has only played for his club's U23s side in the EFL Trophy would be notable enough to warrant a page? A better example would be, an U23s player who has made an appearance in the competition but his only competitive first-team games have been with a National League side on loan. Thanks Thegeordieman (talk) 11:27, 6 June 2025 (UTC)
:Level of professional play is entirely irrelevant - only WP:GNG. GiantSnowman 11:40, 6 June 2025 (UTC)

How correct is the "represent a team" concept?
I've been reading articles about footballers in active who play for national teams from countries where they were not born. In those articles, the following structure usually appears: "Born in (A), represents the (B) national team". I think the standard language should be changed. The verb "represent" should only be used when nations (whether countries or dependencies) are the subject and "play" when teams are the subject. To be more clear and just an example, the subject in "Spain national football team" is "team", not "Spain" ("Spain national football" are the adjectives of the subject). Therefore, Dean Huijsen, who was born in the Netherlands, plays for the Spain national team and, by doing that, what he represents is Spain as a country (not just as a national football team). MonFrontieres (talk) 16:31, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
:Check Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football/Archive 169#"Plays for". As you say, it's either "plays for the Spain national team" or "represents Spain". Nehme1499 16:32, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
::Please, tell that to User:Anwegmann. He (she or they, I don't know that) is doing an unnecessary edit war which makes us both waste time. MonFrontieres (talk) 23:11, 7 June 2025 (UTC). His (her or their) stance allows for the following editing of articles about footballers as a valid form: "Given Middle Last (born DOB) is an English footballer who represents Premier League club Liverpool".--MonFrontieres (talk) 23:43, 7 June 2025 (UTC). I'm not sure community would support a club footballer being presented in that way.--MonFrontieres (talk) 23:52, 7 June 2025 (UTC)

Can anyone source Tony Bond (footballer, born 1913)? He cropped up in a PetScan for Unsourced articles and Lancashire, for the Wikipedia:WikiProject Unreferenced articles/Backlog drives/June 2025.
Intersecting Unsourced articles with British footballers, down to 7 levels of subcategories, finds 8 others:
