Most of the additions were not of active links, instead being of the format "Press rrttyy.com for RapidShare.com. R, T and Y keys are together on keyboard. There might be legitimate uses of this site, but quite a few were spammed this morning. I only noticed the instances at TED (conference) and Stanford University. Worth proceeding with caution, as they have a list of official "Partners" at their [http://www.cultureunplugged.com/festival/about.php site's about page], and I can't see any advertising (however I have numerous ad-blocker methods running...). In general, the data mining related articles are filled with book spam and link spam I have the impression (and most have "Refimprove" and "Cleanup" markers. See also, and further reading sections are out of control; but it seems to be too much to clean up for me, too ... and in the lists I've seen there is always one or another book, article or link that I do consider appropriate for "further reading".

::Get in touch with Mike.lifeguard on meta. There are hundreds of Chinese knockoff sites out there spamming us one domain, one Wikimedia project and one throwaway user name at a time. He's started tracking this stuff down. Your lot here looks like more of the same. I watch spam that hits some of our smaller projects and they're taking one or two spam sprees a day of this stuff from China. I don't know about the stuff you've found but stuff I've seen has been added very disruptively, taking out chunks of existing text in articles unrelated to the junk the spammer's pedalling.

::One way to find related websites is to look at site pages such as "About us", "Privacy", "Shipping", "FAQ" etc and identify unique Chinglish sentences like "Dear friends we abide by the principle of the interests of customers coming to the first both pre sales and post sales".
