Wikimedia Commons Description Template

Mostly everything is fine about the current template shown in the recording process, except for the link_to_recorded_version= at the very end. Every time I have done it, it just looks very wordy since it copies the entire permanent link URL! Looking at past Spoken Wikipedia articles on Commons, I saw that they used to use oldid=, which still works to this day and links the permalink much more clearly. I don't know why it was changed or if the current template should behave the way it does, but to me it seems like using oldid= is still both easier and cleaner than the current version.
