The YJ-18 ({{zh|c=鹰击-18|p=yingji-18|l=eagle strike 18}}, NATO designation CH-SS-NX-13{{cite journal |last1=Gormley |first1=Dennis M. |last2=Erickson |first2=Andrew S. |last3=Yuan |first3=Jingdong |date=30 September 2014 |title=A Potent Vector: Assessing Chinese Cruise Missile Developments |url=http://ndupress.ndu.edu/Media/News/NewsArticleView/tabid/7849/Article/577568/jfq-75-a-potent-vector-assessing-chinese-cruise-missile-developments.aspx |journal=Joint Forces Quarterly |publisher=National Defense University |issue=75 |pages=102 |access-date=8 May 2015}}) is a Chinese anti-ship cruise missile.

Description

The United States believes the YJ-18 is similar to, or is a copy of, the Russian 3M-54 Klub. According to the United States Department of Defense, the YJ-18 has a subsonic cruise mode and a supersonic terminal attack.United States Office of the Secretary of Defense: Annual Report To Congress 2015, p.46 Performance estimates include a range of {{convert|290|nmi|mi km}},United States Office of the Secretary of Defense: Annual Report To Congress 2015, p.10 with a threat ring of {{convert|264,200|nmi2|mi2 km2|abbr=on}}, and a cruising range of {{convert|180|km|mi nmi|abbr=on}} at Mach 0.8 and a sprint range of {{convert|40|km|mi nmi|abbr=on}} at Mach 2.5 to 3.0.

The missile can be launched from vertical launching systems,United States Navy Office of Naval Intelligence: The PLA Navy, p.16 and possibly from submarine torpedo tubes. Chinese media claims the missile has an inertial guidance system using BeiDou Navigation Satellite System data, and carries a {{convert|300|kg|lb|abbr=on}} high-explosive warhead with an anti-radiation seeker.{{cite web |url=http://mil.news.sina.com.cn/2013-09-12/1004740170.html |title=简氏称中国鹰击-18反舰导弹可"空中急拐弯"(图) |date=12 September 2013 |website=mil.news.sina.com.cn |access-date=10 May 2015}}

The YJ-18 is deployed aboard the Type 052D destroyer and the Type 055 destroyer. It may already be carried by the Shang II-class nuclear attack submarine outfitted with VLS cells, will replace the {{convert|20|nmi|mi km|abbr=on}}-range YJ-82 aboard the Yuan-class air-independent propulsion (AIP) and Song-class diesel-electric submarines, will likely deploy on the Type 095 submarine, and may be capable of deployment on Kilo-class submarines. A land-based version could replace the subsonic {{convert|400|km|mi nmi|abbr=on}}-range YJ-62 with shore batteries.
