Its mascot is the YoGo Gorilla (voiced by Paul Johnstone{{cite web|title=Paul Johnstone|url=https://www.rmk.com.au/paul_johnstone/|publisher=Archived from RMK Voices|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20210628181048/https://www.rmk.com.au/paul_johnstone/ |access-date=June 19, 2021|archive-date=28 June 2021 }}), who mainly became popular from commercials throughout the 90s to the mid-2000s. There were calls in 2018 for the YoGo Gorilla to be removed from packaging in a push to reduce the promotion of unhealthy products to children.{{Cite news|last=Buttigieg|first=Melissa|title=Why cartoon characters may disappear from kids' food packaging|work=Yahoo! Brownes Dairy

In Western Australia, a similar yoghurt variant, 'Yogo' is produced by Brownes Dairy.{{cite web|title=Original Yogo Chocolate|url=http://brownesdairy.com.au/products/cream-yogo/original-yogo-chocolate/|work=Brownes|publisher=Brownes Foods Operations Pty Ltd.|access-date=14 August 2013|archive-date=4 May 2013|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20130504181601/http://brownesdairy.com.au/products/cream-yogo/original-yogo-chocolate/|url-status=dead}} Unlike the original YoGo, the advertising for Brownes variant revolved around a purple bird with the slogan Gimme Yogo!.

Brownes Yogo is sold in chocolate flavour, but previously also included Strawberry, Banana, and creamy rice, as well as chocolate variants "Dirt Dessert" and a "Double Decker" range with chocolate and a "marshmallow" top, or strawberry and a "marshmallow" top — all of which were discontinued in 2013.{{cite web|title=Dirt gate: more than 10,000 people pledge to protest at Perth's Brownes Dairy Plant|date=9 July 2018 |url=https://www.communitynews.com.au/stirling-times/news/dirt-gate-10000-people-pledge-protest-perths-brownes-dairy-plant/|access-date=21 June 2019|publisher=Community News}}

Yogo was first sold in the 1980s and 1990s under the Peters "Peters Farm" brand.
