Release

The band supported the album with a tour, which began in May 2018 with significant personnel changes.{{Cite news|url=https://www.stereogum.com/1992005/new-dirty-projectors-release-lamp-lit-prose-revealed-by-shazam/news/|title=New Dirty Projectors Release Lamp Lit Prose Revealed By Shazam|last=Rettig|first=James|date=2018-04-18|work=Stereogum|access-date=2018-06-30}}

They released the first single off the album, "Break-Thru", on May 2 along with a music video.{{Cite web|url=https://pitchfork.com/news/dirty-projectors-enlist-haim-robin-pecknold-more-for-new-album-share-song-listen/|title=Dirty Projectors Enlist Haim, Robin Pecknold, More for New Album, Share Song: Listen|last1=Sodowsky|first1=Sam|last2=Monroe|first2=Jazz|date=May 2, 2018|website=Pitchfork|language=en|access-date=2018-06-29}}{{Cite web|url=https://www.pastemagazine.com/articles/2018/05/dirty-projectors-release-new-peppy-single-break-th.html|title=Dirty Projectors Announce New Album Lamp Lit Prose, Release Peppy New Single "Break-Thru"|last=Patterson|first=Adreon|date=May 2, 2018|website=Paste}} In Spin, Andy Cush described the single as sounding "more immediately Dirty Projectors-ish than anything on the self-titled album" released in 2017.

On June 14, they released a second single, "That's a Lifestyle", with an animated music video by Kitty Faingold.{{Cite web|url=https://pitchfork.com/news/listen-to-dirty-projectors-new-song-thats-a-lifestyle/|title=Listen to Dirty Projectors' New Song "That's a Lifestyle"|last=Blais-Billie|first=Braudie|date=June 14, 2018|website=Pitchfork|language=en|access-date=2018-06-30}} In Stereogum, Chris DeVille also contrasted this single with the tenor of Dirty Projectors, saying "That's A Lifestyle" echoed earlier albums "Bitte Orca and Swing Lo Magellan, the pop-minded prog exercises that transformed Dirty Projectors from underground oddities to full-fledged indie rock stars. It's a magnificently pretty guitar tapestry that never lets its complexity smother the pop appeal."{{Cite news|url=https://www.stereogum.com/2001352/dirty-projectors-thats-a-lifestyle-video/video/|title=Dirty Projectors – "That's A Lifestyle" Video|last=DeVille|first=Chris|date=2018-06-14|work=Stereogum|access-date=2018-06-30}}

On July 12, the day before the album's release, the band released their third single, "I Feel Energy".{{Cite web|url=https://www.spin.com/2018/07/dirty-projectors-i-feel-energy-amber-mark-stream/|title=Dirty Projectors – "I Feel Energy (feat.
