Who is Athinaios?
=Location=
Currently based in Athens, Greece.
Have previously lived in Dublin, Ireland, and in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
Expect, but do not hope, to spend the future in the Waste Land.
===Profession===
Archaeologist, specialised in prehistory, especially Neolithic. Also in prehistoric ritual and religion, as well as in use of caves.
I have been involved in archeological fieldwork in Germany, France, Ireland and Greece (mainly Crete).
In the past (including the very recent past), I have worked as barman, journalist, translator, invigilator, ghostwriter, photographer, proofreader, lecturer, chauffeur, voice actor, night porter, tour guide, surveyor, and radio soccer pundit.
Still working on my doctoral thesis...
=Real name=
I'm in two minds as to whether wikipedia editors should have to provide their actual name. There's good arguments either way. If you need mine for some reason, you can email me.
=Interests=
Archaeology, various aspects and areas.
Greece, Ireland, Germany (all aspects in each case, especially archaeology, history, cultural history, art and architecture, politics, literature and culinary tradition).
Architecture, ancient to modern.
=Wikipedia versions=
Contributing to:
- English-language Wikipedia
- [http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benutzer:athinaios German-language Wikipedia] (occasionally)
Contributions so far
=Articles=
I intend to contribute occasionally in all fields relevant to my own interests, whenever I come across something that I feel I can add to. See {{User|Athinaios}} or my [http://tools.wikimedia.de/~interiot/cgi-bin/Tool1/wannabe_kate?username=athinaios&site=en.wikipedia.org edit count].
==Articles started by Athinaios==
- I have added a series of 20 articles on the Foreign Archaeological Institutes in Greece. Two of those articles already existed (BSA and ASCSA) but have been modified entirely. EfA existed in a somewhat different form under a different title.
