The owners of 101 Collins have implemented a strategy of buying adjacent properties to safeguard the building's views, particularly towards the south. As a result, Flinders Lane has experienced an emergence of new restaurants and bars in older buildings.{{Cite news |url=https://www.smh.com.au/business/companies/tower-of-power-splashes-out-to-protect-tenants-views-20191001-p52wjg.html|title='Tower of power' splashes out to protect tenants' views |author=Simon Johanson |author2=Nicole Lindsay |date=2019-10-01|newspaper=The Sydney Morning Herald|language=en|access-date=2019-10-14}}
