The 1st federal electoral district of Chihuahua (Distrito electoral federal 01 de Chihuahua) is one of the 300 electoral districts into which Mexico is divided for elections to the federal Chamber of Deputies and one of nine such districts currently operating in the state of Chihuahua.

It elects one deputy to the lower house of Congress for each three-year legislative session by means of the first-past-the-post system. Votes cast in the district also count towards the calculation of proportional representation ("plurinominal") deputies elected from the first region.{{cite web |title=How Mexico Elects Its Leaders — The Rules |url=https://mexicosolidarityproject.org/voices/172/ |website=Mexico Solidarity Project |access-date=20 July 2024 |date=31 January 2024}}{{cite web |title=Acuerdo del Consejo General del Instituto Nacional Electoral por el que se aprueba la demarcación territorial de las cinco circunscripciones electorales plurinominales federales en que se divide el país |url=https://www.dof.gob.mx/nota_detalle_popup.php?codigo=5684199 |work=Diario Oficial de la Federación |publisher=Instituto Nacional Electoral |access-date=21 August 2024 |date=27 February 2023}}

Chihuahua lost its 10th district in the 1996 redistricting process. Between 1996 and 2005, the 1st district's territory was in the north and north-east of the state, covering the municipalities of Ahumada, Ascensión, Buenaventura, Casas Grandes, Galeana, Gómez Farías, Guadalupe, Ignacio Zaragoza, Janos, Madera, Matachí, Namiquipa, Nuevo Casas Grandes, Práxedis G. Guerrero and Temósachi; it was centred on the city of Nuevo Casas Grandes.

;1979–1996

The districting scheme in force from 1978 to 1996 was the result of the 1977 electoral reforms, which increased the number of single-member seats in the Chamber of Deputies from 196 to 300. Under that plan, Chihuahua's seat allocation rose from six to ten.{{cite book |last1=González Casanova |first1=Pablo |author1-link=Pablo González Casanova |title=Las Elecciones en México: evolución y perspectivas |date=1993 |publisher=Siglo XXI |isbn=9789682313219 |edition=3 |page=219 |url=https://books.google.com/books?id=50GTKb1K9jcC |access-date=21 August 2024}} The 1st district was located in the centre of the state and covered a portion of the state capital, the city of Chihuahua.{{cite web |title=Chihuahua |url=https://www.dof.gob.mx/nota_to_imagen_fs.php?cod_diario=202824&pagina=14&seccion=0 |website=División del Territorio de la República en 300 Distritos Electorales Uninominales para Elecciones Federales |publisher=Diario Oficial de la Federación |access-date=22 August 2024 |page=14 |date=29 May 1978}} The link provides a detailed description of the district's coverage within the city.
