The 2022 Azadi March II ({{Langx|ur|آزادی مارچ|lit=Freedom March|translit=Āzādī Mārch}}) was a protest march led by Imran Khan, former prime minister of Pakistan, from Lahore to Islamabad against the Shehbaz Sharif ministry. It succeeded 2022 Azadi March I, which took place in May.

There was an attempted assassination of Imran Khan during the early days of the march. Khan decided to push for the dissolution of the provincial assemblies of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to force early elections instead of continuing the march. Continued dispute between PTI and the federal government of Pakistan on the holding of elections leading to arbitration at the Supreme Court

Haqeeqi Azadi

Haqeeqi Azadi ("true freedom" movement; Urdu: حقیقی آزادی) march was first used in May 22, 2022, when Imran Khan declared that he will lead the first Azadi March towards Islamabad, dubbed the "freedom march" in English terminology.{{Cite web |title=What is happening in Pakistan's continuing crisis? |url=https://www.brookings.edu/articles/what-is-happening-in-pakistans-continuing-crisis/ |access-date=2024-07-15 |website=Brookings |language=en-US}} As the tension grew between establishment and Imran Khan, the choice of words also started to feel more belligerent. It was not until the second march that the term "freedom march" or "Azadi March" turned into a "True Freedom" as evident by Imran Khan's statement on October 28, 2022.{{Cite news |date=2022-10-29 |title=What pushed Imran Khan to 'real freedom' |url=https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/world/pakistan/what-pushed-imran-to-real-freedom/articleshow/95156655.cms |access-date=2024-07-15 |work=The Times of India |issn=0971-8257}}
