Distribution

Armina scotti have been found in Thailand, Philippines, Madagascar, Papua New Guinea, and Indonesia.

Discovery

Armina scotti was discovered in 2017 in Koh Tao, Thailand. It was discovered by Rahul Mehrotra during a project to record the diverse sea slug populations in the area. Mehrotra and his research team at the New Heaven Reef Conservation Program have continued to research sea slugs in Koh Tao.{{Cite web |last=Rahul |title=2017 - A Year of Discoveries and Science! |url=https://newheavenreefconservation.org/projects/coral-nursery-artificial-reef/8-blog/135-discoveries-and-science2017. |access-date=2025-03-24 |website=New Heaven Reef Conservation Program |language=en-gb}}

Conservation

Coral Reefs of Koh Tao, Thailand are home to a wide biodiversity of sea slugs. Reefs in Koh Tao are threatened by coral bleaching, reef tourism, and anthropogenic pollutants.{{Cite web |last=Scott |first=Chad |date=2023-06-17 |title=Sea Slug Diversity in Koh Tao, Thailand |url=https://conservationdiver.com/2023/06/17/sea-slug-diversity-in-koh-tao-thailand/ |access-date=2025-03-24 |website=Conservation Diver |language=en-US}}
