The tour created a concert residency at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Joel committed to playing one show a month at Madison Square Garden as long as there is a demand for tickets. His first monthly show at the Garden was January 27, 2014. At his thirteenth consecutive monthly performance on January 9, 2015, Joel broke his 2006 record for the most consecutive sold-out shows at the venue. On July 1, 2015, Joel set the record for most shows at the Garden by a single artist; his 65th all-time show broke the record previously held by Elton John and the Grateful Dead.{{cite web|url=http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/pop-shop/6619965/billy-joel-breaks-madison-square-garden-record-recap |title=The 9 Best Things That Happened at Billy Joel's Record-Breaking Madison Square Garden Show |publisher=Billboard |date=July 2, 2015 |access-date= January 6, 2016}}{{cite web|url=http://www.billboard.com/articles/business/6812887/billy-joel-sells-out-30th-madison-square-garden-show |title=Billy Joel Sells Out His 30th Show at Madison Square Garden |publisher=Billboard |date=December 6, 2015 |access-date= January 6, 2016}} His 74th consecutive monthly and 120th all-time MSG performance was slated for March 2020, but had to be postponed due to COVID-19.{{cite web | title=Billy Joel Announces 120th All-Time MSG Concert | website=Q104.3 | date=November 1, 2019| url=https://q1043.iheart.com/content/2019-11-14-billy-joel-announces-120th-all-time-msg-concert/ | access-date=January 26, 2020}} Joel resumed his MSG performances in November 2021.{{Cite magazine |last=Greene |first=Andy |date=2021-11-06 |title=Billy Joel Resumes Monthly Madison Square Garden Residency With Magical Evening of Hits and Fan Favorites |url=https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-live-reviews/billy-joel-madison-square-garden-return-1254111/ |access-date=2024-04-16 |magazine=Rolling Stone |language=en-US}}
