{{Nihongo foot|The Central Japan Railway Company|東海旅客鉄道株式会社|Tōkai Ryokaku Tetsudō kabushiki gaisha|lit. "Tōkai Passenger Railway Stock Company"}} is the main railway company operating in the Chūbu (Nagoya) region of central Japan. It is officially abbreviated in English as JR Central and occasionally as JR Tokai ({{langx|ja|JR東海|links=no}}).{{Cite web |title=Consolidated Subsidiaries |url=https://global.jr-central.co.jp/en/company/about/group.html |access-date=2024-09-17 |website=Central Japan Railway Company |language=ja}} The term Tōkai refers to the southern portion of Central Japan, the geographical region in which the company chiefly operates.
