Production

The band desired to make a harder album than their pop rock debut. They wrote 35 songs for Don't Just Stand There, although Attic asked them to work on more songs with cowriters. Ten of the album's 11 songs are from the original pool of 35.{{cite news |last1=Burliuk |first1=Greg |title=Helix, Haywire Team Up for Hard-Rock Tour |work=The Kingston Whig-Standard |date=11 Dec 1987 |department=Entertainment |page=1}}
