Lake Rotokauri is located approximately 7 km to the northwest of Hamilton, New Zealand.{{Cite web|url=https://www.hamilton.govt.nz/our-city/parks/parksandgardens/Documents/Lake%20Rotokauri%20Management%20Plan%20-%20Operative%20Plan%20-%20November%202002.pdf|title=Lake Rotokauri Management Plan|last=|first=|date=|website=Hamilton City Council|archive-url=|archive-date=|access-date=}} It is a peat lake, and is one of the Waipa Peat lakes.
