The Peel It Back Tour is an ongoing concert tour by the American industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails, consisting of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross and joined by longtime touring members Robin Finck, Alessandro Cortini, and Ilan Rubin. The tour opened on June 15, 2025 in Dublin, Ireland, with additional dates in Europe, the United States, and Canada. It is the band's first tour since their US and UK shows in 2022. Boys Noize is the opening act for every show on the tour.
After Reznor and Ross had focused on composing film scores, they made plans to put their creative inspiration into new Nine Inch Nails work. A new Nine Inch Nails project was expected since December 2024, and leaks regarding concert dates began in mid-January 2025 until the band confirmed their tour, but the announcement had been delayed due to the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires. They later confirmed dates with a European leg starting in June and ending in July; and a North American leg starting in August and ending in September.
Background
In April 2024, Nine Inch Nails announced numerous upcoming projects through new multimedia company With Teeth, including a music festival, a new album, short film, and video game. In August, they announced that the band would compose the score to Disney's Tron: Ares (2025), the first of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross's film scores to credit the Nine Inch Nails name after over a dozen prior works.{{Cite web |last=Baron |first=Zach |date=April 4, 2024 |title=Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross Have a Plan to Soundtrack Everything |url=https://www.gq.com/story/trent-reznor-and-atticus-ross-creativity-awards-profile |access-date=August 15, 2024 |website=GQ |archive-url=http://web.archive.org/web/20240531172933/https://www.gq.com/story/trent-reznor-and-atticus-ross-creativity-awards-profile |archive-date=May 31, 2024 |url-status=live }}{{Cite web |last=Larson |first=Jeremy D. |date=August 10, 2024 |title=Nine Inch Nails to Score New Tron Movie |url=https://pitchfork.com/news/nine-inch-nails-to-score-new-tron-movie/ |access-date=August 10, 2024 |website=Pitchfork |archive-url=http://web.archive.org/web/20240831173429/https://pitchfork.com/news/nine-inch-nails-to-score-new-tron-movie/ |archive-date=August 31, 2024 |url-status=live }} After having been focused more on film scores, Reznor indicated in December 2024 that he and Ross were "taking the inspiration we've garnered and funneling it into a Nine Inch Nails project", and that the duo was ready to return to the "driver's seat".{{Cite web |last=Light |first=Alan |date=December 3, 2024 |title=Trent Reznor's Upward Spiral |url=https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-features/challengers-trent-reznor-atticus-ross-score-1236071769/ |access-date=January 13, 2025 |website=The Hollywood Reporter |archive-url=http://web.archive.org/web/20241205213410/https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-features/challengers-trent-reznor-atticus-ross-score-1236071769/ |archive-date=December 5, 2024 |url-status=live }} Reznor elaborated that material released by "Nine Inch Nails" had been their work in relation to the zeitgeist, which he felt less connected to as he aged, but said that this purpose was changing, and that beyond the Tron score he mused that other Nine Inch Nails activity in 2025 was not out of the question.{{Cite web |last=Shannon Miller |first=Liz |date=December 12, 2024 |title=Composers of the Year Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross Were Up for the Challenge |url=https://consequence.net/cover/trent-reznor-atticus-ross-movies-interviews/ |access-date=January 13, 2025 |website=Consequence of Sound |archive-url=http://web.archive.org/web/20241218085608/https://consequence.net/cover/trent-reznor-atticus-ross-movies-interviews/ |archive-date=December 18, 2024 |url-status=live }}

Notes
Performance information
= Synopsis =
Based on the first performance of the tour, the band performed a 20-song, four act set of music from various releases in their discography. They utilized a main stage and a B-stage, with lighting and visuals during their performance. Reznor noted during the show that the band was "not a well-oiled machine, it's five guys trying to keep their shit together up here".
= Set list =
This set list was taken from the show in Dublin on June 15. It might not represent all shows throughout the tour.{{Cite web |last=Harrison |first=Scoop |date=June 15, 2025 |title=Nine Inch Nails Play First Concert in Three Years to Kick Off "Peel It Back World Tour" |url=https://consequence.net/2025/06/nine-inch-nails-peel-it-back-world-tour-setlist-video/ |access-date=June 17, 2025 |website=Consequence |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20250617223548/https://consequence.net/2025/06/nine-inch-nails-peel-it-back-world-tour-setlist-video/ |archive-date=June 17, 2025 |url-status=live }}
