History
In 2004, Panagiotis ("Takis") Iliopoulos (1932–2022) and his son Marios founded Seajets, originally named Dolphin Sea Lines.{{cite news |last1=Athanasiou |first1=Savvas |title=Παναγιώτης Ηλιόπουλος: Έμεινε στην ιστορία γιατί δρομολόγησε υδροπτέρυγα και ταχύπλοα στο Αιγαίο ("Panagiotis Iliopoulos: He went down in history because he launched hydrofoils and speedboats in the Aegean") |url=https://www.mononews.gr/business/shipping/panagiotis-iliopoulos-emine-stin-istoria-giati-dromologise-idropteriga-ke-tachiploa-sto-egeo |access-date=7 July 2024 |work=Mononews |date=4 November 2022 |location=Athens |language=el}}
Today, it operates a fleet of 14 high speed vessels,{{cite web|url=https://www.seajets.com/learn-about-seajets/fleet|title=Fleet|publisher=Seajets}} and 3 conventional Ro-Ro ferries which services routes from the ports of Piraeus and Rafina to several Cycladic islands. It also sails on routes between Crete (Heraklion - Rethymno) and Central Cyclades (i.e., Santorini, Ios, Naxos, Paros and Mykonos) as well as Northern Greece (Thessaloniki, Sporades), Cyclades and Crete.
In total, Seajets sails to 17 islands and offers 140 connections among them.{{cite web|url=https://www.seajets.gr/en/Destinations-772.htm|title=Destinations|publisher=}} Most of these routes are seasonal, operating between April and October every year.
In 2018 Seajets received the ”Passenger Line of the Year” award in the 15th “Lloyd's List Greek Shipping Awards 2018”{{cite web |title=Seajets receive Lloyd's award|url=https://www.seajets.com/media-center/news/2020/02/19/seajets-award-line-passenger-company-of-year|website=Seajet |access-date=8 December 2018}} and in 2019 Seajets HSC WorldChampion Jet was awarded “ship of the year” during the Lloyd's List Greek Shipping Awards 2019 ceremony.{{cite web |title=Seajets HSC World Champion jet received Lloyd's award|url=https://ferryshippingnews.com/lloyds-list-awards-seajets-hsc-worldchampion-jet/|website=Ferry Shipping News|date=12 December 2019 |access-date=12 December 2019}}
In 2020 the company bought seven cruise ships, two of which were soon resold for demolition.
Seajets owns 30 high-speed passenger ships, 6 ferries and 4 cruise ships connecting 50 Aegean islands and Crete.{{Cite web|url=https://www.mononews.gr/business/shipping/marios-iliopoulos-o-ralistas-pou-diatheti-pontopora-plia-krouazieroplia-ke-tin-sea-jets-tora-analamvani-ke-tin-aek|title=Marios Iliopoulos leading Greek shipowner in coastal shipping|website=www.mononews.gr}}
