A statue of Queen Elizabeth II by Hywel Pratley stands in Oakham, the county town of Rutland in the East Midlands of England. It was unveiled on 21 April 2024, which would have been the Queen's 98th birthday. The 7ft (2.1m) tall sculpture was commissioned by the Lord Lieutenant of Rutland and was funded via donations from businesses and members of the public, at a cost of £125,000.{{cite news|url=https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-leicestershire-68870129|title=Rutland: Hundreds attend Queen Elizabeth II statue unveiling|work=BBC News|first1=Jeremy|last1=Ball|first2=Asha|last2=Patel|date=21 April 2024|access-date=23 April 2024}} It is the first memorial to Elizabeth II to have been unveiled after her death in September 2022.{{cite magazine|url=https://www.townandcountrymag.com/society/tradition/a60569992/queen-elizabeth-ii-corgis-statue-photos/|title=A New Statue of Queen Elizabeth II Complete With Corgis Is Unveiled|magazine=Town & Country|first=Victoria|last=Murphy|date=22 April 2024|access-date=23 April 2024}} The statue portrays the Queen in Garter robes and sash wearing the George IV State Diadem, with one royal corgi at her feet and another two on the plinth.{{cite magazine|url=https://people.com/queen-elizabeth-statue-unveiled-98th-birthday-corgi-gathering-8636820|title=Queen Elizabeth Statue Unveiled on What Would Have Been Her 98th Birthday — with a Corgi Gathering!|magazine=People|first=Janine|last=Henni|date=22 April 2024|access-date=23 April 2024}} Inscribed beneath it are the words "Queen Elizabeth II, 1926–2022.
