The Nordic regional group (formerly NORDEL) of ENTSO-E is a synchronous electrical grid composed of the electricity grids of Norway, Sweden, Finland and the eastern part of the electricity sector in Denmark (Zealand with islands and Bornholm). The grid is not synchronized with the Continental Europe Synchronous Area, but has several non-synchronous DC connections with that as well as other synchronous grids. Gotland is not synchronized with the Swedish mainland either, as it is connected by HVDC.{{Cite web|url=https://www.fingrid.fi/en/grid/power-transmission/nordic-power-system-and-interconnections-with-other-systems/|title = Nordic power system and interconnections with other systems|date = 19 May 2017|accessdate=2023-02-25}}{{cite web |title=Transmissionsnätskarta |url=https://www.svk.se/om-kraftsystemet/om-transmissionsnatet/transmissionsnatskarta/ |website=svk.se |publisher=Svenska kraftnät |access-date=8 September 2021}} The grid also has HVDC submarine power cable links with the Baltic States.
