Wikiproject: Video games assessment of requested articles

As it's much more beneficial to list the assessment here given the number of articles, here's an overall assessment for Dream Chronicles, Dream Chronicles 2, The Chosen Child, and The Book of Air. These articles all remain C-Class, but are not far from a B.

{{collapsetop|B-Class Criteria}}

Taken from WP:BCLASS

  1. The article is suitably referenced, with inline citations where necessary.

    :It has reliable sources, and any important or controversial material which is likely to be challenged is cited. The use of citation templates such as {{tlx|cite web}} is not required, but the use of tags is encouraged.

  2. The article reasonably covers the topic, and does not contain obvious omissions or inaccuracies.

    :It contains a large proportion of the material necessary for an A-Class article, although some sections may need expansion, and some less important topics may be missing.

  3. The article has a defined structure.

    :Content should be organized into groups of related material, including a lead section and all the sections that can reasonably be included in an article of its kind.

  4. The article is reasonably well-written.

    :The prose contains no major grammatical errors and flows sensibly, but it certainly need not be "brilliant". The Manual of Style need not be followed rigorously.

  5. The article contains supporting materials where appropriate.

    :Illustrations are encouraged, though not required. Diagrams and an infobox etc. should be included where they are relevant and useful to the content.

  6. {{#ifeq:{{{B6|}}}|no||

  7. The article presents its content in an appropriately accessible way.

    :It is written with as broad an audience in mind as possible. Although Wikipedia is more than just a general encyclopedia, the article should not assume unnecessary technical background and technical terms should be explained or avoided where possible.

  8. }}

  • The Release History can be included in the infobox by using a collapsable list, and the same would go for the respective platforms. The current format is large and obtrusive to the reader.
  • The Charts is not notable unless the game was number one, and such things should be placed in the Reception section in a sales paragraph
  • The articles use an abundance of blockquotes, which should be used sparingly. I didn't see any quotes that could not be integrated into the regular prose. Additionally, some quotes are rather long, spanning more than 4 lines, which would be a violation of WP:COPYVIO.
  • Some articles have maintenance tags. Typically they do not pass B class with tags, unless the content elsewhere in the article is substantial, or the tag is minor.
  • Some articles have paragraphs that are a giant wall of text. Paragraphs should be no less than three and no more than ~eight sentences where possible.
  • The article leads have references in them. Per WP:LEADCITE, references are only needed in the lead when the same information doesn't exist in the body, however since the lead should be a summary of the body, everything that's cited in the lead should exist in the body and the references moved.
  • The leads do not talk of the sales and reception for each game.

Hopefully that wasn't too hard of a hit. There's a lot of good content here, it's mostly a cleanup job. Hopefully that helps. --Teancum (talk) 15:25, 23 December 2010 (UTC)
