  • Rules on linking categories, etc:

Do not put your userpage or subpages, including work-in-progress articles, into categories used by Wikipedia articles (example: :Category:1990 births). Be careful of templates and stub notices that put a work-in-progress article into categories. You can "quote" categories by adding a colon before "Category", like this: :Category:Bridges. This turns it into an ordinary link. Templates and stub notices can be turned into links to themselves by putting tl| ("tl" followed by a pipe character) in front of their names, like this: {{tl|stub}} You can also "comment out" a portion of text by placing <!-- in front of it and --> after it; this makes the parser ignore that portion of the page.

The former Christ Church is an historic Carpenter Gothic style Episcopal church located on East Main Street (MD 18) in Stevensville, on Kent Island in Queen Anne's County, Maryland.

Christ Church was, from 1880 to 1995, the home of Christ Episcopal Church of Kent Island, the oldest Christian parish in Maryland.

=Christ Episcopal Church of Kent Island=

The Christ Episcopal Church of Kent Island is an Episcopal parish located on Kent Island in Maryland, and is recognized as the state's oldest Christian congregation. It was founded in 1632, one year after Kent Island was founded by William Claiborne, and two years before settlers arrived at St. Clement's Island. The parish has used at least four buildings during its history. The first was located at Kent Fort, the second in Broad Creek, the third in Stevensville, and the fourth and current in Matapeake. Of the four buildings, only the third and fourth are standing today, the fourth having been built in 1995 to accommodate the parish's growing size. The third church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Restoration Award – Built in 1882, the church served an active Episcopal congregation until the 1940′s. The church was purchased and owned privately until 2001 when it was donated to the Browns Valley Historical Society. Shortly after accepting the gift the Society began the painstaking process of restoring its interior. Pews were created from a single original example that had been left. The church organ, which had been in the Brown family for nearly 70 years, was donated back to the Society and window designed were replicated. Doors and period hardware were used to replace missing exterior elements.
