Thanks for the heads up on the AfD, but you might want to be careful about the appearance of canvassing in the future. You may want to consider looking through the rest of :Category:Airsoft guns. bahamut0013wordsdeeds 22:41, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
:Mm, I'd forgotten about that, good call. What do you mean look through the rest of the category? As in look for authors or look for more articles on random classic army airsoft guns? TheFSAviator • T 23:20, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
::I meant to see if any of them might need to go up to AfD as well. bahamut0013wordsdeeds 23:22, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
::Yea I was planning on doing that at some point, most likely will get them put up within a few days if not sooner. TheFSAviator • T 23:26, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
Welcome/subst
When welcoming a user (like [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Davidsilver2010&diff=404054399&oldid=404054090 here]), please could you substitute the welcome template, instead of just transcluding it - ie, please put
Thanks, Chzz ► 17:31, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
:The signature... I miss that one often. May I ask what the difference with subst is? 16px TheFSAviator ( T • C ) 21:08, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
::Transclusion is when put a template in-between wiggly brackets - e.g.
::Substitution—If, instead, you put 'subst' it makes a copy of the template at the time you save it. If you edit the page, you see that it contains a copy. If the template is changed, the page is not affected, because it was a copy taken at that time. If you edit the page later, you see the copy of the template - where you'd put
::Welcome templates - and warning templates - should always be subst'd.
::See Wikipedia:Substitution. Cheers, Chzz ► 21:52, 25 December 2010 (UTC)

Image:Information.svg Hi TheFSaviator. Thank you for your work on patrolling pages and tagging for speedy deletion. I just wanted to inform you that I declined to delete :Son of No One (film), a page that you tagged for speedy deletion because of the following concern: the criterion you used does not cover this kind of page or the reason you specified is not a valid reason for speedy deletion. Please review the criteria for speedy deletion and especially what is considered non-criteria. In future you should rather tag such pages for proposed deletion or start an appropriate deletion discussion. RL0919 (talk) 05:39, 25 December 2010 (UTC)
:Hi. If it doesn't apply to WP:CSD#A7, wouldn't it apply to WP:CSD#A1? No claim of encyclopedic importance is made and the article is unsourced. Thanks, TheFSAviator ( T • C ) 21:36, 25 December 2010 (UTC)
::I have also declined your speedy on Sherard Reddick-Professional Athlete. The article wasn't much, I agree, but there is coverage for the person on Google News, and I've added a few things to the article and did some cleanup. While I don't wish to argue that this person is notable, or that the first version of the article showed much promise, I do wish to urge you to have a look at WP:BEFORE and not pull the trigger too quickly. If you wish to take the article to AfD, you're more than welcome. Thank you, Drmies (talk) 04:49, 2 January 2011 (UTC)

Airsoft Guns
You contacted me on RWJP's talk. A while ago I noticed a rather large error on Airsoft Guns regarding LPEG and MPEG. RWJP were brainstorming when he seemed to fall off the radar. Our conversation can be found [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Airsoft_gun#LPEG_and_MPEG]. I'd be glad to help with jump starting this project again. Drop a comment on my talk page if you're interested. Halofanatic333 (talk) 13:09, 13 January 2011 (UTC)
:Interesting convo, I myself have certainly never heard of those classifications so we may want to remove those. In fact, I'm starting to think we should seriously prune the airsoft articles anyway, considering they're all unsourced. Unfortunately it's quite hard to find any sort of published evidence on the mechanics of airsoft guns, only news coverage is the classic, "Kid shoots postman with airsoft gun" etc. TheFSAviator ( T • C ) 03:37, 14 January 2011 (UTC)
::I may dig up some this weekend.Halofanatic333 (talk) 07:12, 14 January 2011 (UTC)
:::Here's a few sources I used back in 09 for a science fair project.[http://www.jacksonvilleairsoft.com/Airsoft-History/][http://www.airsoftretreat.com/features/articles/fpsweight/][http://www.airsoftmechanics.com/home/content/view/19/29/1/0/][http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-terminal-velocity.htm][http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/airsoft/BulletDetail?bulletID=61] Not 100% we can use them however, but it's a start. Halofanatic333 (talk) 12:05, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
::::I think we could get by with using at least 5 and 6, although maybe we can use all of them and just save them for improving. At least that would get the tag off the page. If you think about it, there's no way we could improve the status of these articles without any sources.
:::::Very true, but we can look for more.Halofanatic333 (talk) 13:28, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
A few more [http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/?filnavn=/articles/r22_newbie/terms.html][http://www.justpistols.co.uk/terms.htm] I'm starting to find "low powered gun," but I know that I've ALWAYS seen it as "Low PRICED," not powered. MPEG is even worse, as it means mid priced, but according the page that would include a TM because of power.Halofanatic333 (talk) 12:41, 20 January 2011 (UTC)
Airsoft
Hey there, I'm interested in helping get the Airsoft Project back up and running again. I also run my own airsoft wiki site. At the moment its just for the UK market but once it is finished I will be creating one either for the whole world or for USA, Asia etc. -- Paul Firmin 17:18, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
:Hi, That's great to hear, check out the to-do list over at Wikipedia:WikiProject Airsoft to see what you can help out with. Especially citing!! TheFSAviator ( T • C ) 23:04, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference
Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.
On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true
. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false
in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.
For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.
Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 18:52, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
