Removal of maintenance tags

Hi, Afstromen! Thanks for creating Akaal: The Unconquered! You have removed the maintenance tags which were added as part of Wikipedia's New Page Patrol. You shouldn't remove such tags as they are added to help improve the article. Please click on When to remove this tag to know if issues have been addressed. I'd also like to tell that the plot summary you have added is incorrect. Please note that it's not necessary that a plot summary should have sources, so please don't add incorrect ones. You can take examples from other articles too, if you don't know whether it's correct or not. Cheers! saluere, Ɔþʱʏɾɪʊs 08:55, 10 May 2025 (UTC)

:Hi there,

:I removed the tags after improving the article. I added all details with reliable sources. I added the plot getting details from a review on Indian Express article. I don’t think there is any issue with plot. Please mention why you removed plot?

:Afstromen (talk) 10:25, 13 May 2025 (UTC)

::Hi, Afstromen! The reason I removed the plot is because it's incorrect. You have actually added the promotion summary of the film and not it's plot. For example see Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva# Plot saluere, Ɔþʱʏɾɪʊs 10:28, 13 May 2025 (UTC)

::I think the tone is correct now and is right so I am removing 1 maintenance tag. saluere, Ɔþʱʏɾɪʊs 10:29, 13 May 2025 (UTC)

Deletion discussion about [[Spinny (company)]]

Hello Afstromen, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Spinny (company), should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Spinny (company).

Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Pppery}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Wiki Draft: Ankush Shinde, IPS

Hi @afstromen,

Thanks for reviewing the article Ankush Shinde, IPS which pertains to a living senior Indian Police Services officer of the Maharashtra cadre.

I noticed that you rejected the article with a short comment, so I wanted to inquire further and ask for your inputs.

Your comment states "No significant coverage in reliable sources. Some sources lead to an error."

-> Several other sources are available from sources such as Indian Express, Times of India, Sakal (a major newspaper in Maharashtra with a strong base of readership) among others. I will be able to easily replace the broken links. Thanks for pointing it out.

The officer is well-known across Maharashtra and has led as the Commissioner of Police for Pimpri Chinchwad (largest industrial automotive hub of India), Nashik (religious and wine hub), Solapur (industrial town) which are major urban centers in Maharashtra. The officer has directly impacted millions of peoples lives positively.

At the moment I have kept the write-up quite brief. Shall I go ahead and add all of the sources and make detailed updates?

The officer has a 30 year long career in effective public service marked with TEDx speakership, President's Medal, interviews among other authentic coverage, so sources is not at all a problem to establish real world notability.

-> Secondly, I wanted to understand the objective basis as to why the Times of India, easily the biggest news publication in India, is not a reliable source. In case there is a strong bias, or favoritism that is visible in any of the publications, I'm more than happy to remove sources.

From what it appears, the articles refer to significant impactful events to the benefit of society that were led by Mr. Ankush Shinde in his capacity as a senior officer.

Thanks again for taking the time to review the article. Look forward to your inputs. Abhisennin (talk) 09:52, 3 June 2025 (UTC)

:Hi @Abhisennin,

: Thank you for your contributions. At this time, the subject lacks in-depth coverage from reliable, independent sources. In order to establish notability and improve the article, please provide references to sources that offer significant and detailed information about the topic. Once additional reliable sources are added, I'd be happy to review the draft again.Afstromen (talk) 11:02, 3 June 2025 (UTC)

::Hi @Afstromen,

::Thank you again for taking the time to review the draft article on IPS officer Ankush Shinde, and for raising the concern regarding notability and reliable sourcing.

::I'd like to respectfully clarify a few points and request your further input to help strengthen the draft.

::1) Clarification on Reliable Sources:

::The article currently cites Times of India, Indian Express, Loksatta, Lokmat, Sakal, and TV9 Marathi — all recognized as independent, reliable, and widely cited sources in India, particularly for coverage of law enforcement and governance.

::For example:

::The Indian Express article on the 2018 Gadchiroli encounter (where 16 Maoists were neutralized) is one of the most cited reports on a major anti-insurgency operation in India.

::Times of India coverage on the murder of a CEO in Nashik led to an investigative series featuring officer-led updates and strategic breakthroughs.

::Loksatta and Sakal- among Maharashtra's most credible regional newspapers- have extensively covered community reforms and awards such as the Arun Bongirwar Public Service Award.

::These sources are:

::->Independent of each other

::-> Covering different timeframes and events

::-> Authored by a range of journalists with no apparent editorial coordination or agenda

::If any specific source is flagged as not meeting reliability, I would be grateful for that clarification so I may replace or supplement it accordingly.

::2) Context on In-depth Coverage for IPS Officers:

::As an IPS officer, Mr. Shinde’s role is by nature operational, sensitive, and institutionally bound. Public servants in such roles do not engage in frequent interviews or media profiling, particularly in cases involving:

::National security (e.g., Naxal operations), Juvenile crime reforms, VIP protection duties

::Instead, their notability is evidenced through outcomes, leadership in critical postings, and sustained public impact - all of which are verifiably covered through multiple media reports and awards over a 30-year career.

::Wikipedia’s own guidance notes:

::“Routine coverage of the subject can establish notability when the coverage is extensive, reliable, and from independent sources.”

::The draft aims to follow this guideline by building a structured timeline, citing over a dozen reliable articles, and focusing strictly on public service and impact - not personal details or promotional tone.

::3) Comparative Precedents:

::I’d also request a review of biographies of similarly positioned Indian civil servants, such as:

::Sandeep Karnik (IPS)

::Praveen Pardeshi (IAS)

::Their articles are built on comparable depth of reporting and follow similar notability logic, relying on high-impact service milestones rather than celebrity-style coverage.

::I would be happy to further improve the article by:

::-Adding more citations (I am compiling 30+ verifiable sources)

::-Linking specific projects or outcomes to each posting

::-Ensuring all references are from independently verifiable sources

::-Refining the content of the article

::Thank you again for the guidance. I look forward to your suggestions on what additional improvements would help this article meet the notability threshold. Abhisennin (talk) 14:40, 3 June 2025 (UTC)

:::Please understand that in order to establish notability on Wikipedia, the subject must be covered with significant depth in reliable, independent secondary sources. Upon reviewing the cited sources, it appears that they do not provide the level of in-depth coverage required to demonstrate notability under Wikipedia's general notability guideline (GNG).

:::Additionally, while disclosing a conflict of interest (COI) is appreciated and encouraged, it does not exempt edits from the requirement that all content must be verifiable and supported by reliable sources. Any unsourced or poorly sourced content should be removed in accordance with Wikipedia’s policies.

:::If you are referencing other articles that appear to cover similarly non-notable subjects, please note that the existence of those articles does not justify retaining this one. Articles that do not meet notability standards are subject to deletion through Wikipedia’s established deletion processes (such as Articles for Deletion (AfD)).Afstromen (talk) 04:40, 4 June 2025 (UTC)
