Taillight shark
Hello, I noticed that you recently removed the WikiProject Fishes banner from the Taillight shark talk page, which caused a bot to remove a link to the page from the WikiProject Fishes page. I see that you are significantly more experienced both on Wikipedia generally and on species articles specifically, so I was just curious about what the reason for the removal is. (I was taken off-guard since I would expect shark species to be included in the scope of Fishes, as, for example, great white shark and longfin mako shark currently are.) Thanks. : Hey there, {{ping|OceanGunfish}}! Tree of Life WikiProjects have a bit of a thing with categorization that other articles don’t have to nearly the same degree. Specifically, everything is a subcategory or something else. All sharks are in WP:Sharks, and also in WP:Fishes. Likewise, all fish articles are in WP:animals, and all of those are in WP:ToL, and then WP:Biology, WP:Science… where an article about, say a restaurant or a type of candy doesn’t have this problem. I think we don’t need so many nested projects listed when the subproject is completely within the topic of a parent WP. It’s redundant to have WP:Fish when all sharks are fish.
