Creating an article
Hello
I have a biography of my artist and I am not able to publish it.
can you help?
Rok Kay (talk) 11:11, 28 January 2025 (UTC)
:Hi there! Your draft was declined was it lacked sources. On Wikipedia, citation is incredibly important. An article must have reliable sources supporting it, and an article may be deleted if there are none. From a quick look, it seems like Georges Tomb meets the notability criteria for musicians, and he already has a page on the French wiki. Please check out the articles I have linked (most importantly WP:RS and WP:CITE) for help finding sources. Cheers! jolielover♥talk 12:23, 28 January 2025 (UTC)
::Good morning Md. Jolie Lover
::Yes Georges has a French wiki when a friend tried helping him. That friend does not speak English and we would like to do an English Wiki since his career has well advanced since then.
::Can you help and what will be the price?
::Our email is rkortbawi at yahoo comMaybe its easier to coordinate through there.
::Cordially yours

Hi. Thank you for your contribution on the Chris Brown page. I have noticed [https://en.m.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Chris_Brown&diff=prev&oldid=1275057625 this odd edit by another user]. I believe this edit should be reverted, as it seems to be an effort to hide informations. Would you agree? 5.90.62.23 (talk) 22:34, 10 February 2025 (UTC)
:Hi there, I believe I have only edited the article once in a minor change so ultimately I don't know. I do think "each by a different mother" sounds clunky, I would change it to elaborate more, e.g. "Brown had his first child in 20xx with X" so on. jolielover♥talk 15:17, 14 February 2025 (UTC)

Straubenzee family AFC submission
Hi there @Jolielover. Thank you for taking the time to review Draft:Straubenzee family, and for providing such helpful feedback!
Bar the example you explained in detail, you mentioned that many sources had issues with WP:SYNTH and WP:OR, or were unreliable. I think I understand the two policies having had a read, but would you mind please specifying what sort of sources/sentences fall short of Wikipedia's criteria whenever you have a spare moment? I'm going to review the article anyway and tighten up the submission as much as I can, but any direction you can provide would be helpful!
If useful we can discuss more at the Talk page.

::Hi there, please start a new section next time, it is much appreciated; regarding Celebrity, I very much disagree. Bollywood for instance is a massive industry (in a country with over 1 billion people). I also took the luxury of making each person have a different reason for getting famous, to demonstrate a wide variety of options. Currently, your edit makes 5/6 people American - Wikipedia already has a massive issue with western bias so I really do not understand the need for this. jolielover♥talk 21:24, 29 March 2025 (UTC)
Ramadan in the Outer Hebrides....
I see that you have told the author of this potentially almost limitless series of articles that they are possible not notable, and have drafified them. I agree with you in that most of the content of those articles is simply about Ramadan. They are also grotesquely overlinked and full of fluff. But what prompted me put a not on your page is the fact that the editor is moving the articles back to mainspace; do you think they should go to AfD??TheLongTone (talk) 13:28, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
:Well, if it's the same quality as before.. I would say yes. I'm not a scholar of Islam, but I don't think Ramadan traditions vary wildly between countries. For instance, the page on Ramadan in Saudi Arabia had a lot of non-notable events hosted by localities. I live in a Muslim country (next to Saudi, actually), and have seen plenty of similar events being put up by the government; it really is just not noteworthy, and Wikipedia is not a directory for such events. From what I have seen, the articles just recount what Ramadan is and then are full of original research. jolielover♥talk 13:54, 31 March 2025 (UTC)

I strongly suggest you stop acting like WP:OWN at One Direction. Not all of us experienced editors agree with every bit of you monumentally extensive remodelling there, and if you hope to pass Good article you'll need all the friends you can get. SergeWoodzing (talk) 17:26, 20 April 2025 (UTC)
:???
:Dude, given that the discussion came to a stand-still I just assumed everyone moved on. I don't own the article and have tried to discuss the issue, but really, what more can I do? I requested 3O, went to the dispute resolution board. The article's already at GA, I'm trying to get it to FA, and sorry, I just feel like you're assuming bad faith against me when I really don't mean to be rude or anything.
:I don't get why you take my edits as negative. Sure, it was 'extensive remodelling', but I arguably brought the article to a much better status than it was before, like getting rid of several questionable sources, even one deprecated source that slipped by. I don't see the extensive remodelling as anything negative. And, I really just have to ask why you have such a stake in the article. Last I checked, you had like 3 edits- one adding the image in 2012, one minor edit, and one adding the image back this year. I agree that nobody owns an article, but you have to realize it kind of comes off like you feel like you own it, too. Again, I've tried to explain my edits. I just really don't understand this. jolielover♥talk 18:42, 20 April 2025 (UTC)
::"what more can I do?" - you can refain from calling me or anyone else "Dude", for starters. "I really don't mean to be rude or anything" mm hm. When one assumes "everyone moved on" and takes advantage of that by trying - again! - to get ones own way despite discussion, one leaves onself open for justifiable criticism re: being sneaky, to say the least. The only thing I might claim to own is many years of extensive insight, after a few years of trial-and-error of my own, into how things are done here and how they are not. Some of your behavior, in trying to do good work, unfortunately has ended up in the latter of those two distinctions. If it hadn't there would have been no need to write to you here, only to discuss relevant content issues at article talk. SergeWoodzing (talk) 11:57, 23 April 2025 (UTC)
=Peace offering=
I do appreciate your good work & intentions, your fascination with your favorite boy band as well as your age and inexperience on Wikipedia. If you take care to respect the opinions of other editors, especially experienced ones, and most importantly such admistrators who now have given you good advice. I'm sure you'll be OK. Don't look for a fight in discussions, don't insist on insignificant changes, and test every bit of text you add very carefully and objectively for encyclopedic relevance. That will help you with your Featured goal. Best wishes, --SergeWoodzing (talk) 15:34, 24 April 2025 (UTC)

Speedy deletion contested: [[:The dumbness of the EU cookie consent law]]
Hello Jolielover. I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of :The dumbness of the EU cookie consent law, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The article is not about a website. Thank you. jlwoodwa (talk) 04:38, 21 April 2025 (UTC)
:Twinkle says A7 applies for websites and web content, and the article is about web content, no? jolielover♥talk 04:39, 21 April 2025 (UTC)
::I don't think "laws requiring websites to have cookie consent banners" is the kind of thing that A7 is meant to apply to, but even if it is, the EU cookie directive looks to be a notable topic. The problem with that article is that it's an essay, nothing to do with A7. jlwoodwa (talk) 07:37, 21 April 2025 (UTC)
