While Wikipedia's written policies and guidelines should be taken seriously, they can be misused.
Do not follow an overly strict interpretation of the letter of policy without consideration for the principles of policies.
If the rules truly prevent you from improving the encyclopedia, ignore them.
Disagreements are resolved through consensus-based discussion, not by tightly sticking to rules and procedures.
Furthermore, policies and guidelines themselves may be changed to reflect evolving consensus. (WP:NOT)

Request for Draft mode: Dai Ying (producer)
Hi Liz,
hope all is well.
The page Dai Ying (producer) has been deleted based on consensus.
I've since found new sources of news that will address the notability issue.
The AFD team has asked me to approach you about the page.
Can you help me please?
Many thanks.

IBAN questions
Hey Liz. I have a discussion listed at User talk:Alex 21#IBAN concerning an IBAN you enforced on an editor against myself. Could you provide me advice on what to do when the editor is violating that IBAN, please? Many thanks. -- Alex_21 TALK 22:46, 2 March 2025 (UTC)
:Hello, Alex 21,
:This was a definite violation so I posted a warning at User talk:DoctorWhoFan91#IBan. I expect they might file an appeal of the IBan but they will have to go through WP:AN to do that where you will have an opportunity to comment. Liz Read! Talk! 03:52, 3 March 2025 (UTC)
::Thank you for your post. Just as an update, they did indeed go through AN, and the thread was almost immediately closed. -- Alex_21 TALK 09:04, 3 March 2025 (UTC)
:: Hi Liz. In one of DoctorWhoFan91's original ANI threads, you wrote you would "definitely stay away from any problems [DWF91] might have in the future since [DWF91] disliked what [you] offer", adding that you will "go back to when [DWF91 and you] didn't know each other". I agree with Tamzin's decision to block and hope there will be no reprise down the line, but wanted to remind you of one of your last exchanges with DWF91. — ImaginesTigers (talk∙contribs) 22:19, 4 March 2025 (UTC)
:::ImaginesTigers, I'll have to reread what I wrote back in February. My intention at the time was not to communicate with this editor in the future but this recent action was an IBan violation not a noticeboard discussion. I think it was within my administrative resposibilities to post a warning to them and I did warn the editor instead of imposing a block which another admin did subsequently. But since I was reminded by this editor that they preferred not to communicate with me, I'll keep my distance unless action is necessary in my capacity as an administrator. Liz Read! Talk! 17:13, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
:::: Hi @Liz. Hope you're well. You frame things very differently from me. Instead of "[DWF91] preferred not to communicate with me", I suggest "he reminded me that I repeatedly told him I'd stay away from future noticeboard discussions regarding him", which signals slightly more hostility. I don't think it is a unique message in this respect.
:::: For example, the message you left on his talk page — – could be described very literally as an "expression of negative feelings, resentment, and aggression in an unassertive passive way (as through procrastination and stubbornness)".
:::: This is my first time experiencing a noticeboard and it has been a terrible reveal. No admin responded to any diff provided by DWF91 or any other participant who left statements. The only admin who requested diffs did not respond when they were provided. Wikipedia's dispute noticeboards are certainly unique among social media sites, but I don't think any other site would redirect WP:CESSPIT to theirs. — ImaginesTigers (talk∙contribs) 22:48, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
:::::Hello, ImaginesTigers,
:::::What do you need from me? I don't want to rehash old arguments from noticeboards, especially when I've been instructed not to involve myself with another editor. If you need something related to my admin work, let me know. Otherwise, I have a lot of tasks to take care of. Liz Read! Talk! 23:00, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
:::::: Hi @Liz. You summoned me here by pinging me. Disagreeing with the framing of your response and the professionalism of your conduct, I explained my position respectfully on your User talk. An explanatory response is customary but (as you know) many editors choose not to do this. I have nothing else to say on the topic. Good luck with your tasks. — ImaginesTigers (talk∙contribs) 23:51, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
::::::::ImaginesTigers, I pinged you because I was responding to your message to me last week. Then, you responded, then I responded, that's how conversations work. But since you don't seem to want to talk, I will not "ping" you any longer but I will respond so you know I saw your message. So long. Liz Read! Talk! 00:01, 12 March 2025 (UTC)
::::::::
I'm responding because you said I "don't seem to want to talk". I replied to the ping because I wanted to talk. If one makes a complaint to a company, the complainant doesn't usually have much to do until the company gets back to them. To summarise:
- You ask what I wanted.
- I request a response (I suppose the basic options would be explain, defend or apologise).
- You say that you pinged me because you were responding to me; this seems off topic.
If your next response is about the allegations I made, I will respond. If your next response is about something else (e.g., me – like your last), I will recognise you don't want to discuss and not respond. Please feel free to message me on Discord if you'd prefer to discuss privately. — ImaginesTigers (talk∙contribs) 00:54, 12 March 2025 (UTC)

Growth Newsletter #33
File:Growth_team_logo_-_Icon_only.svg
A quarterly update from the Growth team on our work to improve the new editor experience.
Constructive Activation Experiments
This year, the Growth team is exploring ways to help more new account holders start editing—and do so constructively, meaning their edits are not reverted. Our latest experiments include:
- Gradual rollout of "Add a Link" at English Wikipedia – We are gradually introducing the "Add a Link" structured task to newcomers at English Wikipedia (T386029). This serves as a natural A/B test to measure its impact on activation, retention, and revert rates (T382603). Previous experiments on pilot wikis showed that "Add a Link" increases newcomer participation, particularly by helping them make constructive (non-reverted) edits.
- Testing in-article suggestions for first-time editors – Many new account holders want to contribute but don’t know where to start. To help, we’re piloting a feature that surfaces structured task suggestions directly in an article’s read view for brand-new editors (T385343). These suggestions will appear for logged-in users with no edits, providing a clear, simple way to begin contributing that is surfaced while they read.
Community Updates
Newcomers often struggle to find their place in Wikipedia’s collaborative environment. While experienced editors easily discover events like edit-a-thons and writing campaigns, newcomers often miss out.
- To bridge this gap, we launched the Community Updates module for the Newcomer Homepage. This module is disabled by default, allowing Community Admins to decide how (or if) to use it.
- If your community hosts events, consider setting up a Community Update to engage and welcome newcomers! Learn more on Diff. To configure, visit Special:CommunityConfiguration.
Community Configuration
Community Configuration is now available across all wikis, including non-Wikipedia projects (T383910). Community Configuration allows admins to customize various features like Growth features and Automoderator for their communities, and more recently the Babel extension now allows admins to modify configuration:
- Babel customization – Admins can now configure Babel settings (T374348), including category naming, automatic category creation, and more. See an example on Wikimedia Commons.
- Upcoming configurable features – Projects exploring community configuration options include: Incident Reporting System (T374113) and Cite backlinks (T378807).
Mentorship
Mentors play a key role in guiding new editors. If you’re interested in mentoring, or turning mentorship on at your wiki, check out the Mentorship FAQ
- Starting February 17, 100% of new accounts at English Wikipedia will be assigned a mentor (T384505).
- At Spanish Wikipedia, on 50% of newcomers get a mentor. Experienced contributors are encouraged to join mentorship so that Spanish Wikipedia can provide a mentor to all new users.
Looking Ahead
In the coming months, we will continue balancing maintenance work—such as deprecating EditGrowth Config (T367574) and migrating Statslib (T359352) — with user-facing improvements that support new editors and foster the next generation of contributors.

Hi Liz.
This is about Draft:The Trauma Cleaner: One Woman's Extraordinary Life in Death, Decay & Disaster
- That draft was created on 5 April 2024
- The most recent update of the draft was on 2 September 2024
- You deleted the draft under the on 2 March 2025 following the WP:G13 speedy deletion criterion.
- I am considering a WP:REFUND/G13 undeletion request
OK, so far, so good, right?
Nope. Given that I write a lot about Australian literature and Australian law in articlespace, I don't think I could make this request with an open mind, without ":apprehended bias" on my part.
I seek your opinion about this draft. Does it meet WP:NBOOK? Are the issues raised at Sandra Pankhurst relevant here?
My apologies if I am bothering your very busy self with very de minimis things here

Category: Comanche Nation people
@Liz, I have recently been working on categorization of Native American people, an area of the encyclopedia that badly needs improvement. I removed the deletion tag on Comanche Nation people, and began populating this Category. I know you are super busy, but was wondering if you could ping me before deleting the Cats for people of the various tribes of Native Americans people. Many thanks in advance! Netherzone (talk) 18:02, 10 March 2025 (UTC)
:Hello, Netherzone,
:Well, "speedy" deletion for categories is a misnomer, it's not speedy at all. If a category is empty, it is tagged for CSD C1 speedy deletion but then it sits for 7 days before deletion is considered. This is because often categories can be temporarily empty or be "emptied out of process". We need to tag the empty categories to start the 7 day clock but you don't have to worry about them being deleted immediately. I think 7 days should be long enough to straighten out any problems that arise when you are recategorizing articles and categories. Liz Read! Talk! 18:07, 10 March 2025 (UTC)
Parallels and meridians
I'm going to wikignome fix this with two renominations from scratch.
I might be some time. ☺
Uncle G (talk) 10:51, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
:Hello, Uncle G,
:Well, I think that article was associated with an AFD, right? I didn't quite get why there was a new AFD for an article that has already been deleted. But I look forward to reading it over. Liz Read! Talk! 17:05, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
The now closed discussion was going to be an undecidable mess.
I foresaw every closer just scratching xyr head at that one, not least over which articles were even being nominated.
The re-done nomination has a clear list, with all of the articles tagged, and all of the nominated articles sharing a clear commonality.
I'm just about to prod the participants into trying to be specific, but at least they are discussing the articles more than the process this time around.
I'm holding back on the meridians, to see how well this goes with the parallels.
Mixing them together was going to be problematic, too, as a couple of people had already pointed out.
A summary of what I said on my talk page
Liz, I know you don't check pings, so I basically wanted to summarise what I said on my talk page- which was to request that, keeping up with what you said on my talk page a month ago, you do not edit in any noticeboards matters relating to me, or msg me, and if possible, refrain from any action regarding anything else related to me unless it's necessary in your capacity as admin. Especially in matters that are related to the ani thread in early feb. DWF91 (talk) 16:40, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
:Hello, DWF91,
:While I still think your reasoning on that past noticeboard discussion, that I basically wasn't helpful enough and my replies were "too generic", is rather peculiar and strange, I'll try to abide by your wishes unless admin work requires me to contact or acknowledge you. This isn't an IBan between us so, for example, if Alex contacts me for help, I can advise them that they go elsewhere for assistance. After 11 years on this project, this is a first for me.
:Good bye and good luck with your editing. Liz Read! Talk! 17:01, 11 March 2025 (UTC)

As I have identified we are students, we are new to this process and hoping to learn from fellow wikipedia page creators. Please let me know your thoughts and thank you for your time. User interaction ban
Hi Liz I wonder if you can help me? Do I still have an interaction ban with editor Mztourist. I think it was about 10 years ago it was put on. I tried to find out where it was recorded but couldn't. I would like to comment here on this RFC here: Talk:Algerian War but don't know if its still active. Thanks. scope_creepTalk 18:45, 12 March 2025 (UTC)

You need to appeal it at WP:AN but since it is almost 5 years old, I think you'll have good odds of it being lifted if there haven't been any problems recently. Hello Liz, sorry for bothering you. Unfortunately, all the WP:ROPE given to User:PayamAvarwand has proved futile, which unfortunately was expected, as they had earlier once again refused to read this sites policies , just after the second ANI thread last month . Southern African Tour issue: intro section
Hello administrators:
Within the past couple years User:Jimmymci234 and I have collaborated to create seasonal calendars for the Southern African Tour, a golfing organization. We have created all the calendars between the inaugural 1971–72 season and the 1999–2000 season. We agreed on much but disagreed on the content of the introductory section. I thought a full paragraph was necessary while Jimmy thought it should be limited to one sentence. We were unable to resolve this matter and I would like administrators to help us form a consensus.
Regards,
Chief disambiguator (talk) 21:10, 16 March 2025 (UTC)
:Golf isn't my thing, but a full introductory wouldn't be harmful and it's not like that's a well known enough tournament that a preamble would be unnecessary. Hey man im josh (talk) 14:42, 17 March 2025 (UTC)

Stalking
Hi Liz (or talk page watcher)! Could this be seen as stalking? I really don't like that we're guessing exact addresses this user will be at. — EF5 16:00, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
:Hello, EF5,
:I'm not sure that I know the full story here but apparently, this IP editor has frequently socked? I'm concerned that editors might be preoccupied with trying to anticipate a future sockpuppet appearance instead of doing constructive work on this project. It seems like a waste of editors' time and an unhealthy focus to be worried about a blocked editor. It could violate "outing" guidelines as well. And it's just plain creepy. It's giving them too much power over how an editor spends their time here and, who knows, the IP editor might have moved on and not care about Wikipedia any longer.
:I recommend no editor in good standing chronicle anyone's movements off-Wikipedia on talk pages here or it could lead to negative consequences for the "stalker". That's my admin advice and recommendation as a fellow editor and human being. Liz Read! Talk! 20:12, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
::Thanks for responding! They are an LTA and still disruptively edit, I'm just afraid people are looking too deep down the hole and potentially stalking them. :) EF5 20:17, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
:::I agree, EF5. It's just not a healthy activity for an active editor to be spending time on. Ones time spent on Wikipedia should be on the work, not obsessing about other people, whether they are friend or foe. This isn't social media but an encyclopedia. I've seen good editors get absorbed by sockhunts or feuds with other editors (blocked or those in good standing) and it's just an enormous distraction and, honestly, it doesn't help the project either. Zyter TruCare
Hi Liz, I was wondering if I might be able to ask for your help in creating an article for the digital health tech company Zyter TruCare. I have a draft posted in my userspace for your convenience. My COI, as declared on my userpage, prevents me from creating this page myself. I look forward to your help and potential collaboration. Thank you! Lauren at L Strategies (talk) 17:05, 21 March 2025 (UTC)
:Hello Lauren at L Strategies. Liz is probably busier than most editors. I have taken a look at your draft. Unfortunately, the references in the draft and any other sources that I could find online do not support a conclusion that the topic of Zyter TruCare is eligible for a standalone article. This is because of Wikipedia's stringent limitations on new articles on companies, as per the guideline on the notability of companies, which aims to protect Wikipedia from gaming of the rules by marketing and public relations professionals, and ultimately to protect Wikipedia from being used by companies to promote themselves (including simply to "tell the world they exist", and similar, more innocuous-seeming goals). Specifically, the sources are not WP:SUBSTANTIAL. Routine industry news, market intelligence reports that do not discuss the subject in depth, announcements of non-notable awards, and similar are not sources of sufficiently high quality for Wikipedia. Delinking
Hi Liz. After noticing this happen again on the same page I pseudo-reverted earlier: Please, I beg thee, look at the list before delinking. :) Back when I did more list maintenance, admins indiscriminately delinking after deletion regularly made my life harder. So many lists are lists of notable examples, such that when an article is deleted as not being notable, it should be removed. The "what links here" and other tools make red links easy to find in such lists and remove, but when someone comes by and unlinks it, not only does it not improve the article, it makes those items harder to find. FWIW. — Rhododendrites talk \\ 01:20, 28 March 2025 (UTC)
:Hello, Rhododendrites,
:Sorry you had to do that reversion twice, that's an unusual coincidence. I'll try to be more careful in the future. Checking unlinking with PRODs is fairly straight-forward but with AFDs it happens automatically with deletion and that process is a little more complicated. Liz Read! Talk! 01:28, 28 March 2025 (UTC)
::No worries and thanks. I don't think I realized (or don't remember) that it's automatic with AfDs. That seems short-sighted. Ah well. — Rhododendrites talk \\ 01:40, 28 March 2025 (UTC)
Deletion Question
Hi Liz, I hope you're doing well!
I created a category called Biomedical Research yesterday; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Biomedical_Research
The idea here is to link it to lab techniques, fields, and concepts that can be applied within different relevant research fields, and make info more connected and accessible. I created the page (new here! wasn't sure it would even work) but got busy with work and haven't started the linking just yet.
I saw it's been tagged for auto-deletion... Is this because it's empty, or for a different reason? Will work on starting to fill it as soon as I can. I've gone through articles and categories that are adjacent in nature, and haven't yet found anything that specifically addresses the need I've described above, so I don't believe it'd be redundant once created.
Thank you for taking the time to moderate and help! Shmigley (talk) 03:08, 28 March 2025 (UTC)

Hello, I'm new to wiki and I understand the strictness and accuracy this community requires, I had created sandbox for my own fun and wanted to change the title but not released to the public and should only be visible to friends I send links to. However due to me wanting to change the title of the sandbox (because obviously the page isn't about sandbox) I accidentally used the wrong function and moved my sandbox page under another user which doesn't exist.
I am hereby begging you to undelete my page as that took me 5 hours of work to write
Thank you for your understanding and I promise to follow the rules strictly from now on Midnight Hurricane (talk) 03:54, 28 March 2025 (UTC)

::If you want to change your username, then ask for help at the Teahouse and they will tell you what to do. But the only time you should move your User pages is if you are moving it to Draft space. I have restored this article. A quick Google Books search shows evidence of notability. The fact that there were 17 incoming links (which I also had to restore) was a good clue that this was a bad PROD. ~Kvng (talk) 17:18, 29 March 2025 (UTC)
:Hello, Kvng,
:We delete articles tagged for proposed deletion that have more links than 17. That's great you looked into this one but admins reviewing PRODs aren't responsible for doing BEFOREs, the nominator is (see WP:PRODNOM). Admins just check to see if the article or file is eligible for proposed deletion and sometimes look for a way to Redirect the page. You can see a reviewing admin's responsibilities at Wikipedia:Proposed deletion#Procedure for administrators. Liz Read! Talk! 17:54, 29 March 2025 (UTC)
::As I'm sure your aware, not all editors that propose or nominate articles for deletion do WP:BEFORE. How are we accounting for this in PROD processes? I assume WP:PRODPATROL coverage is still spotty. ~Kvng (talk) 18:04, 29 March 2025 (UTC)

Hey Liz. The ANI/I thread about source misrepresentation on Vasojevići has not received any further input from other interested editors. Draftifying of Balkan Spring / Southeast Europe protests

New Draft
Hello.
I had a doubt regarding creating a particular article. Would be really helpful if you could just resolve my confusion.
The thing is that today I tried to create a draft for a new article titled "Avijit Sen". But it happens that some other user had created a draft with the same title earlier. But due to no editing for six months, the draft has been deleted.
So, is it okay for me if I create a new draft now and then submit it later? I hope its no way violating any policy regarding creating new drafts after a draft by some other user has been deleted due to no edit for six months?
Thanks

Closed (poker)
I was looking at User talk:Conversion script, as one does, and noticed this nomination.
I read the Afd and I was going to redirect the page to Glossary_of_poker_terms#C but I thought I'd check the term was included. The headword is there, but it refers the reader to the now deleted article.
Can the content be added to the glossary, please, and the page undeleted (for copyright reasons) and redirected to the section, or a new anchor.
It's probably a good idea to check "what links here" before deleting a page.
All the best: Rich Farmbrough 10:35, 4 April 2025 (UTC).
:Hello, Rich,
:In this case, I was just closing an AFD discussion where this term was the subject being discussed. All closers do is close discussions and we rely on our tool, XFDcloser, to handle the article, talk page and redirect deletions, to remove red links and other details involved an article deleted through an AFD. Perhaps the AFD nominator should have checked the "What links here" page link but it's not the responsibility of the closer to follow up and check every mention of an article title on the project. At least, I don't know of any discussion closers who do this. If any of my talk page stalkers know of an admin who goes to these lengths after an AFD closure, please mention them here.
:As for your requests, I'll consider them today and tomorrow. Alternatively, if you think the closure of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Closed (poker) was incorrect or you want it overturned, you can file an appeal at Wikipedia:Deletion review. Liz Read! Talk! 19:58, 6 April 2025 (UTC)
Assistance with disruptive editing
Hi there. In Commons, I created a Category for Buildings and structures on the Iran National Heritage List, to simply add those cultural heritage monuments that are on the Iran National Heritage List. An editor, Orijentolog, without discussion, deleted the Commons category and commented on my talk page "...please don't open or change Iran-related categories any more...." which I though was really vague. I tried to enter into discussion with the user to understand their motivations; and I restored the category, as it had been deleted without consensus. An edit war erupted. I added; the user deleted, etc. And the user then commented, "Stop making duplicate categories, or I'll report you." Again, I asked the user to explain; again, no answer. What do you suggest that I do in order to resolve the matter, with consensus, or does it require an Admin to assist? Many thanks. Rangasyd (talk) 05:49, 5 April 2025 (UTC)
Kinetic term page
Hi Liz,
I noticed that for some reason the kinetic term page was deleted, with the reason given that "there is not such thing" as a kinetic term, and its really only a case of kinetic energy. This is false. A kinetic term is a well known type of term in quantum field theory, and not having a page on it is not good. The fact that the page didn't have citations is, well, a problem of the page, not the topic. I can't seem to be able to find the discussion on why the page was deleted, so I don't know what other arguments were provided.
OpenScience709 (talk) 09:09, 6 April 2025 (UTC)
:Hello, OpenScience709,
:I saw the message from Johnjbarton requesting an article that was PROD'd to be restored so I have done so. For Proposed deletions (PRODs), an editor can just tag an article with their rationale for its deletion, there is no discussion. Any editor who objects to it can remove the PROD tag or raise the issue on the article talk page and the article is not deleted. As for the deletion rationale for this article, you can look at the last edit by Johnjbarton in the page history to see what his reasons were. As an admin who reviews PROD'd articles, we are supposed to carry out the deletion as long a rationale is provided that isn't nonsense and there are no objections to the proposed deletion which is what occurred in this case. But if objections are voiced later, which is what also happened here, we restore the article.
:Part of the deletion rationale was because the article was unreferenced so I hope you can spend some time improving the article and finding appropriate citations that show it is a term that is used in quantum field theory. Good luck! Liz Read! Talk! 19:46, 6 April 2025 (UTC)

Hi there, you deleted this article after a PROD but I wasn't around to notice it. If you look at my Miss Teen USA 1983, Miss Teen USA 1984 and Miss Teen USA 1985 edits you'll see that there are actually plenty of articles to show notability. I was hoping you'd be able to restore it so I could improve it and add references? (fwiw, I'm actually the creator/editor of Pageantupdate.info and yes it definitely shouldn't count as a source!) To make this easier, just a few of the references I have for 1986 – there are more, this is just a few to show that my request is legit: https://www.newspapers.com/article/the-courier-gazette-miss-teen-usa-1986-t/169687136/ https://www.newspapers.com/article/the-orlando-sentinel/169687204/ https://www.newspapers.com/article/the-orlando-sentinel/169687220/ https://www.newspapers.com/article/the-orlando-sentinel/169687249/ CJinoz (talk) 11:02, 6 April 2025 (UTC)
:Hello, CJinoz,
:done I'm not a far of articles on Wikipedia about beauty pageants but in the case of PRODs, it doesn't matter what my opinion is because they are restored upon request unless there are other problems with the article (like copyright violations or it was created by a sockpuppet). Also, please know that you can also make these requests for restoring PRODs or G7s or G13s by going to WP:REFUND in case the admin doesn't tend to their User talk page often enough (guilty!). Good luck with the article! Liz Read! Talk! 19:39, 6 April 2025 (UTC)
Kinetic term
Hi Liz. It seems our efforts to clean up were a bit to efficient :-(.
On March 30 I set PROD on Kinetic term, today April 4 you deleted, and also on that day @OpenScience709 presented a solid case for notability. This term, which sounded like a shorthand for "kinetic energy term" to me and another editor, has a specific meaning within the field of "quantum field theory" and would likely be notable on that grounds. (Of course we got into this because the article was well below the bar for making its case but I assume that OpenScience709 will fix this issue if we undo the delete.)
Would you be willing to restore or should we go for Requests for undeletion?
Thanks! Johnjbarton (talk) 17:36, 6 April 2025 (UTC)
:Hello, Johnjbarton,

Restoring the content of a deleted article
Hi, I am contacting about the deletion of the article on Daniel Kokotajlo. The article was deleted due to WP:BLP1E. But there has been more news coverage since, notably with this New York Times article. He was also listed in this Time article as one of the 100 most influential people in AI. I believe he is sufficiently notable now. If possible, I would like for the article to be restored as a draft (or to the mainspace, or somehow sent to me) so that I don't have to write it back from scratch. Alenoach (talk) 18:58, 7 April 2025 (UTC)
:Someone actually recreated an article in the meantime, but it would still be nice if you could send me (as a draft, sandbox or by email) the original version when it was deleted, if possible, so that I could integrate its content. Otherwise I will just continue from the recreated article, it's not that big a deal. Alenoach (talk) 12:36, 20 April 2025 (UTC)

About the DC Comics categories I created
I created these because I saw the categories on Special:WantedPages, and I noticed a lot of redirect pages were using them. If you click “What links here” on the categories, you’ll see a ton of redirect pages linking to them. But for some reason, they’re not showing up on the category pages, making the category look empty.
I’m sorry if the categories just don’t work. An admin can delete them if that’s the case. ApexParagon (talk) 12:40, 12 April 2025 (UTC)

FYI your closure of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Don Bradman with the Australian cricket team in England in 1948 is being challenged here - not sure if this ought to be at DRV or AFD or...? Nikkimaria (talk) 23:00, 12 April 2025 (UTC)
:Hello, Nikkimaria,

Help on FBG AfD fiasco?
Liz, I need your help on something. The author of FBG Duck, Moment of True, just reminded me that the article was nominated for deletion in a second nomination 6 days ago, but I renominated it (third time) and its affiliated pages recently. I think I could be in trouble if so. Review please and thank you? If I ever face blockage or banishment from editing for this, then I'm going to face another debacle here on Wikipedia. DBrown SPS (talk) 11:53, 13 April 2025 (UTC)
:Tpw If you have changed your mind about the nomination, you can withdraw it as the nominator. There are no delete!votes as of the writing of this note. -- Whpq (talk) 17:32, 13 April 2025 (UTC)

Draftification q
Liz, I just draftified the newly created article Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati because, though the subject is likely to be notable, the BLP was promotional and didn't reflect even the cited sources (eg, the subject's disputed status as the head of the Jyotir Math, and several other controversies that are sub judice). Only after I had done so, did I realize that previous versions of this article had been thrice draftified and a parallel duplicate draft existed at Draft:Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati, with an equally messy draft and mainspace history.pb
I see that you have previously been involved with some of the draftifications and are surely more familiar with the nuts and bolts of the draftification/deletion process than I. So any input on what should be done with the duplicate drafts and if the mainspace titles should be salted in the meantime? Pinging CNMall41 who have reviewed the draft without the honorific "Swami" in its title. Abecedare (talk) 05:20, 14 April 2025 (UTC)
:Btw there are also deleted drafts for the subjects bio at:
:* Draft:Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati (2) and
:* Draft:Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati (3)
: with their own deleted history.
:Hello, Abecedare,
:This IS complicated. Draft:Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati is the pre-existing draft that is waiting to be reviewed again by AFC but the draft creator is now blocked for COI issues and suspected AI use. Meanwhile Draft:Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati was just created today but who knows, it might be the better version. I see two possibilities, you could merge the two drafts together or turn one into a redirect to the other draft. But I'd ask User:Takarsinh what they think since they are the editor who is currently working on an article on this subject while the other editor is blocked. Liz Read! Talk! 05:31, 14 April 2025 (UTC)
::I posted this before seeing your addition to your message. I wanted to add that there is another CSD G13 version of Draft:Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati that was deleted back in 2024. So, we have lots of versions circulating around. Is there a version you think is a better written draft? Or just has fewer problems? I deal with a lot of drafts but I actually don't do AFC reviewing. Liz Read! Talk! 05:34, 14 April 2025 (UTC)
:::Liz, Draft:Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati is a super-set of Draft:Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati although it is certainly not ready for mainspace yet. In addition to the COI and suspected AI issues, the first sentence of both drafts declare the subject the "current Shankaracharya of Jyotir Math" in wiki-voice, which is unaccaptable since that status has been challenged and the Supreme Court of India put a hold on the subject's ascension to that post in October 2022. At the risk of ABFing, I suspect that the on-wiki shenanigans may well be part of a PR campaign to solidify the subject's claim.
:::So here is what I propose to do:
:::# Delete Draft:Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati and ask Takarsinh to work on developing Draft:Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati, if they wish.
:::# Salt the mainspace titles Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati and Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati, to prevent casual recreations or pre-mature moves from draft space.
:::How does that sound? I'll wait for at least 12 hours before implementing any of this in case anyone has any objections or a better plan. Cheers. Abecedare (talk) 05:59, 14 April 2025 (UTC)
::::Hello, Abecedare,
::::Sounds good. I'm also more alert in the morning and it's about 1 am here right now. Maybe in 12 hours, other editors will have weighed in with their thoughts. Liz Read! Talk! 07:44, 14 April 2025 (UTC)
::::That sounds like a good idea to me. I've just informed the page creator to work on the preexisting draft, which I modified heavily to remove contentious information not supported by reliable sources, among other cleanups. Honestly, salting the titles means that a non-admin reviewer will have to get assistance from an admin to help accept the draft, but that will not be an issue. ToadetteEdit (talk) 08:22, 14 April 2025 (UTC)
:::::The socking and UPE of these pages is deplorable. They are not going away as I see on the history there are now more editors involved (also likely socks and/or meat). My opinion on UPE is simple, burn and salt. --CNMall41 (talk) 16:44, 14 April 2025 (UTC)

Hi Liz - regarding your edit summary here, that header bit was deliberate on my part, since the "Proposed arbitration motions..." section was directly related to (in fact, sprang from) the section I moved above it. - The Bushranger One ping only 06:46, 17 April 2025 (UTC)

Highway 4 shooting AfD
Hi, Highway 4 shooting has an open AfD but was deleted in advance, was this intentional? Stockhausenfan (talk) 08:12, 17 April 2025 (UTC)
:Hello, Stockhausenfan,
:Thanks for pointing this out. I have tabs open for the day's Proposed deletions and less than an hour from the time that this article's PROD expired, it was de-PROD'd and tagged for AFD. If it had been de-PROD'd yesterday or hours earlier, then I would have caught it but less than an hour? This very rarely happens and the article deleted as a PROD despite being untagged in its most recent version. I have restored the article and if you look at the page history, you can see what happened. This was my mistake and I appreciate you catching it. Liz Read! Talk! 15:36, 17 April 2025 (UTC)
Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Reginaldo Ndong
Hi Liz, thanks for your close at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Reginaldo Ndong, and all your efforts on these, but I wonder if you would consider amending this one. Only exactly half of the participants !voted to keep the article, and a close of keep effectively shuts down a further discussion on redirection. There are clear issues with the sourcing that were unaddressed, and what looks like a source list at first glance in the first !vote is not. It was just a list of papers they thought we should search. In the light of this, wouldn't "no consensus" have been more appropriate? such a close would prevent the argument that no redirect discussion is due owing to the finding at AfD. Or else a relist to tease out consensus more clearly, since it was only a week old? Thanks. Sirfurboy🏄 (talk) 08:17, 17 April 2025 (UTC)
- I'm not going to complain if this is changed to no consensus (though, the !vote count was 4k-2d, not "exactly half" keep); I don't really like a relist, given that we've already got plenty of other Olympian AFDs to deal with (20 at the moment, and more added by the day). BeanieFan11 (talk) 15:35, 17 April 2025 (UTC)

Unable to find further reliable reference
The reason for being unable to edit my draft on Sarah Corkery was there were not enough reliable references which would be right for the Wikipedia. I'm sorry these drafts were deleted although for next to four months I was looking on Google for reliable references. Those though were too few and far between. Angela Kate Maureen Pears 21:53, 18 April 2025 (UTC)
:Hello, Tropical Storm Angela,
:Was this draft deleted because of inactivity, as a CSD G13? If so, they I can restore it if this is what you are asking for. As for references, many, many articles can't be accepted because there are insufficient references, it's a very common problem. Sometimes, it's just a matter of timing, references are later found or articles or books are published and then adequate references make an article on Wikipedia becomes a more liklier proposition. Liz Read! Talk! 21:59, 18 April 2025 (UTC)
::The sources shown on Google on Sarah Corkery were really questionable or not suitable enough according to Wikipedia standards; I couldn't use them, therefore. But Sarah Corkery could be always brought back when more reliable information comes up.

Please RE-OPEN Stage School Australia
Hi. If you actually look at the article you just deleted at Stage School Australia, I was right in the middle of expanding this article and adding sources. There is plenty of independent secondary coverage in reliable sources. None of the participants in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Stage School Australia discussed where they had searched, and the last participant actually indicated that the complexity of the organisation's naming history was probably adding to the difficulty in locating them. Please re-list the discussion so that I can !vote and add to the discussion...and also if you could restore the article, I can finish editing. Thanks. RebeccaGreen You were right about looking for former names of Stage School Australia. I found lots of coverage via ProQuest. Another tip is that Google actually will show you a lot more coverage if you use more than one search parameter at a time. So don't only search for "Stage School Australia"; search with two parameters like "Stage School Australia" and "Young Australian Broadway Chorus" or "Australian Boys Dance Academy" at the same time, and you will find a surprising number of hits. :Hello, Cielquiparle,
:I don't like to revert my AFD closures because that can bring a flood of future requests to do so which can render the concept of a "closure" meaningless. But I respect your content creation so I'll think about it tonight. At most, I would relist the discussion which means that another closer could decide to reclose the discussion on their own. Liz Read! Talk! 03:38, 19 April 2025 (UTC)
::Yes, I am just asking for a relist. Is there any way you would consider a relist ASAP? The reason is, I was just in the middle of editing (look at the time stamps on the history and the number of edits I had made) and have all the content and tabs open with relevant coverage). (I can also ask for a refund and/or try to recreate the article fresh but I may lose interest and never come back to this topic again, as I have other projects to work on and real life commitments. :::::Hello, Cielquiparle,

Draft for Park Systems – Request for Feedback
Hello Liz,
I’m disclosing that I am a conflict of interest (CoI) editor affiliated with Park Systems, and have made the disclosure on my user page.
I understand that the previous Park Systems draft was deleted, and I’d like to respectfully ask for your input. This new version was focused solely on factual content, supported by independent, reliable sources, and written in a neutral tone. I’m trying to follow Wikipedia’s policies carefully.
If you have any suggestions or concerns about how I could improve it to meet Wikipedia standards, I would sincerely appreciate your guidance. Thank you for your time and for your work maintaining the project. Infotrack10 (talk) 05:57, 21 April 2025 (UTC)

Request regarding the deleted page about Nay Porttela
Hi Liz, I hope you're doing well!
I noticed that on April 3rd, you moved the page “Discussão:Nay Porttela” to draft and later deleted it. I’m interested in recreating a page for the artist Nay Porttela and wanted to reach out to better understand the reason for its deletion and to ask if you might have any guidance on how to restructure the content to meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines.
Since then, the artist has gained more visibility. She currently has over 121,000 monthly listeners on Spotify and has had songs included in compilations released by Putumayo World Music, a well-known international label that highlights culturally significant artists.
I believe this growth, along with some reliable sources I’m gathering, could support a well-referenced and neutrally written article.
If possible, I’d appreciate any thoughts or recommendations you may have before I move forward with the draft.
Thanks so much for your time and for all the work you do on Wikipedia!

Draft:XR class + Draft:Pacific National XR Class
Hi there, I was just going through 171.236.215.75's edits, and noticed that they just copied and pasted an existing article word for word at Freight Australia XR class to two new pages at different names, which you then draftified (Draft:XR class and Draft:Pacific National XR Class).
In essence, an article on the topic already exists and the drafts are carbon copies of the original article. Just as an FYI, not sure if there's any action to be done here? Thanks, Fork99 (talk) 10:25, 22 April 2025 (UTC)

please block User:Eastern_Anatolia for mass vandalism
hi Liz, i'm not a regular wikipedia editor but i am familiar with the workings of a mediawiki instance. i noticed while flipping thru my open tabs that the Princess_Mononoke page had been... replaced with what appeared to be a sticky background image of some turkish guy.
google lens-ing it showed that it was this commons file and it was in fact now included in countless articles. i found one of the ones that was small and bisected the offending content in my user talk page until i determined it was coming from Template:Project_Muse.
apparently just a few minutes before i noticed all this, User:Eastern_Anatolia made the vandalizing edit. i don't know how to report vandalism, but i saw that you had written on the user's talk page, and your userpage indicates you have adjusted user permissions, which presumably means you have the ability to do so. i suspect this user deserves a ban.
thanks for reading!
update: apparently people fought over it and someone else got to the ban in the time i was writing this. also apologies for not knowing about the "add topic" button.

Hi Liz, I think this edit should be reverted, deleted, hidden, struck, or… something. Also, the broader thread concerns COI contributions. I think the COI editor who started the RM is following the rules by disclosing their status on their Talk page, but I think it would have been better to also state up front in the RM.
