Thank you today for the article, introduced: "Margaret Sanger is an important figure in United States history. From her beginnings as a nurse, a socialist, and a feminist, she evolved into a charismatic activist that worked to legalize birth-control. She founded Planned Parenthood, and was responsible for the gradual legalization of contraceptives in the U.S. between 1918 and 1965. To promote birth control, she endorsed eugenics, which has tarnished her reputation, because many eugenicists were racists. Six decades after her death, Sanger remains a highly visible figure in the U.S. because the anti-abortion movement frequently attacks Sanger on social media. The attacks focus on her support of eugenics and purported racism, so the article covers those areas in some depth."! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 05:51, 18 May 2025 (UTC)

Hello, based on your directions at The Featured Article Candidates, I have applied for Hindustani-speaking world to be peer-reviewed. Could you please go over the article and then leave a message at my talk page or on this thread below? Shubhsamant09 (talk) 21:38, 7 April 2025 (UTC)

::Hello, and thank you so much for peer reviewing the article. I went over the map, and instead created a new one with sources cited so its accuracy is not disputable. :::::{{yo|Shubhsamant09}} Good luck with the GA process. Be patient: you have to wait for some volunteer to find your article at GA and pick it and start a review. That can take anywhere from 1 week to 3 months. Sometimes articles fail the GA, and you simply work on them more, then they pass the second try. So if you fail the first GA, do not give up hope.
:::::If you think the article is ready for GA, and you are in a hurry, you should consider listing the article in the "GA review circle" at WP:Good article review circles. If you list the article there, it will get reviewed within 10 days ... but you must also do a GA review on some article. I'm not saying that is a better option, but I thought you should know. Only list at WP:Good article review circles if you are positive that you can perform a decent GA review yourself on someone else's article. Noleander (talk) 00:53, 9 April 2025 (UTC)

New page reviewer granted
File:Wikipedia New page reviewer.svg
Hi Noleander, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the new page reviewer user right to your account. This means you now have access to the page curation tools and can start patrolling pages from the new pages feed. If you asked for this at requests for permissions, please check back there to see if your access is time-limited or if there are other comments.
This is a good time to re-acquaint yourself with the guidance at Wikipedia:New pages patrol. Before you get started, please take the time to:
- Add Wikipedia talk:New pages patrol/Reviewers to your watchlist to follow NPP-related discussions
- If you use Twinkle, configure it to log your CSDs and PRODs
- If you can read any languages other than English, add yourself to the list of reviewers with language proficiencies
You can find a list of other useful links and tools for patrollers at Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Resources. If you are ever unsure what to do, ask your fellow patrollers or just leave the page for someone else to review – you're not alone! Callanecc (talk • contribs • logs) 02:42, 27 April 2025 (UTC)

Can I suggest you have another look at this page you recently approved as to sourcing. Cite 1 is incomplete so as to be meaningless, cite 2 is good but almost the whole article is a copyvio of it, cite 3 as you pointed out is not a RS and cite 4 is a flickr photo Lyndaship (talk) 08:00, 10 May 2025 (UTC)
:@Lyndaship Thanks for the feedback on the WP:New_pages_patrol review I did. I believe my actions were consistent with the instructions at WP:New_pages_patrol ...there are circumstances where an article can be marked "Reviewed" even though the reviewer adds tags that indicate bad sources. (PS: the term is "reviewed", not "approved"). If you think the article need more tags, or should be sent to WP:AFD, or should be un-reviewed, please feel free to go for it. Maybe you should contact user Woffio, they created the article, and they also removed the "bad sources" tag I added (without fixing the sources issue). Noleander (talk) 14:23, 10 May 2025 (UTC)

@Noleander hello - can i ask you to review List of companies involved in the Gaza genocide Thanks a bunch Cinaroot (talk) 20:41, 14 May 2025 (UTC)
:@Cinaroot - The list article appears to comply with the WP:MOS manual of style. Most facts and sentences have good citations that point to sources, which is very important to meet the WP:V and WP:RS requirements. I have not looked at the individual sources, but WP:Reliable sources policy suggests that independent (not biased) sources are desired; it is best to use major, independent news outlets, such as The Guardian news site; New York Times, Mother Jones, BBC and so on.
:One requirement for WP articles or lists is the WP:SYNTH requirement, which prohibits "synthesis" ... that means an editor should not take a bunch of facts (even if they are all true and all have strong sources) and assemble them together into a single article or list ... Unless there is a source that has published a similar list.
:Whether or not this particular list of companies complies with the WP:SYNTH policy is hard to say. The best way to comply with the policy is to find a "list of companies involved in Gaza...." article that was published by some strong, independent source (like the The Guardian etc). This article does not have to copy that list exactly: the important thing is that sources have published some kind of list of companies.
:If you cannot find a published list of companies, that is not necessarily mean the list is invalid: there are hundreds of lists in Wikipedia that are assembled by editors, even tho there are no sources that publish similar lists. In that case: if an editor nominates the list for deletion (using the WP:AFD process) you'll need to justify the list... for example, by finding similar WP lists of companies that were involved in wars, conflicts etc. You can look in :Category:Lists of companies and try to find similar lists. Then in the AFD process, other editors will contribute their opinions. Noleander (talk) 21:00, 14 May 2025 (UTC)
::What about https://afsc.org/gaza-genocide-companies
::This is by American Friends Service Committee Cinaroot (talk) 21:08, 14 May 2025 (UTC)
:::I can also find supporting articles like https://www.thenation.com/article/economy/gaza-war-profiteers-corporations/ Cinaroot (talk) 21:10, 14 May 2025 (UTC)
::::@Cinaroot The reliability (per WP:RS) of sources will not be black-and-white: sources will cover a broad spectrum: from very biased propaganda sources, to middle-reliability (Amnesty International, etc), to very objective (BBC, New York Times, etc).
::::WP has a list of some common sources that indicates if they are okay or not at Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Perennial_sources ... but it only has a few dozen source listed. You should glance at that and you will learn a lot about how to tell if sources are reliable or not.
::::You posted a source above from [https://www.thenation.com/article/economy/gaza-war-profiteers-corporations/ The Nation] ... that magazine is very solid & reliable. The source from American Friends Service Committee is probably middle-reliability (not great, but not too biased) ... but I'm not sure.
::::I did a quick google search for weapons companies involved in Gaza. There are a lot of sources that might be perceived as biased, but an example of a reliable source is: Stockholm International Peace Research Institute which published this: https://www.sipri.org/commentary/topical-backgrounder/2024/how-top-arms-exporters-have-responded-war-gaza
::::If you can find three or more sources that are reliable, and that published an article about "list of companies involved ..." that would be good proof that the list article complies with WP:SYNTH requirement.
::::Again, even if you cannot find published lists, the article may still meet the WP:SYNTH and WP:OR policies, but you may be required to argue the case in the WP:AFD process. Noleander (talk) 21:19, 14 May 2025 (UTC)
