Articles versus pages
Hi {{ping|Whiterabbit6}} Wikipedia main product is articles, not pages. Can you refer to them as article. They are not pages. Thanks. scope_creepTalk 21:58, 1 January 2025 (UTC)

:OK, thanks for the feedback. I'll look for other references I can use. I'm surprised that interviews and podcasts on YouTube aren't seen as sufficiently reliable, since YouTube is used in references so widely on Wikipedia. I was disappointed not to be able to submit this to any kind of a lesbian or diversity project to be reviewed, but I couldn't find anything like that on the list. :Hi @AlphaBetaGamma, I'm sorry but I don't recognise this description of my work. I was a journalist for many years and always write in a neutral and formal tone. It already refers to a range of independent, reliable published sources. The tone of this page is in keeping with other biographies on Wikipedia. Please provide examples of parts of this page that you feel are not neutral. Whiterabbit6 (talk) 17:07, 2 February 2025 (UTC)
::Looks like a misclick when I was selecting a reason for decline on the interface. The filmography and web series section needs to be sourced though. {{fixed}} ABG (Talk/Report any mistakes here) 22:28, 2 February 2025 (UTC)
:::Hi @AlphaBetaGamma thanks for your feedback. I can't find any other actresses whose filmography/web series sections have references, can you provide some examples? Actresses who have appeared in web series alongside Mandahla Rose include Crystal Chappell, Cathy DeBuono, Guinevere Turner and Nadia Bjorlin, but none of them have references in their filmography/television sections of their Wikipedia pages. Is there a reason why this draft is being held to higher standards than existing Wikipedia pages? Whiterabbit6 (talk) 08:09, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
::::That simply means those articles doesn't follow the standards as well. Morgan Freeman on screen and stage is an example of those tables being properly sourced. ABG (Talk/Report any mistakes here) 22:38, 4 February 2025 (UTC)

:Thanks for accepting my article! Just FYI, you may, or may not, find it interesting/helpful to know that I work in Editorial at Cambridge University Press - we publish encyclopedias and they're not generally written in the very formal style that's now demanded by Wikipedia. Not that that should stop Wikipedia editors wanting articles written in a certain style if that's what they want, but it's not the style of encyclopedias per say. Happy to send you some sample chapters if you ever want to see any. Thanks again, though. Good to see this finally signed off. Whiterabbit6 (talk) 23:00, 26 March 2025 (UTC)
::Dear Whiterabbit6, thank you for the information. You are welcome to bring this topic up at the teahouse. However, for the time being, Wikipedia has its own content rules independent of other encyclopaedias, and they must be abided by. I noticed that you have added back in almost everything that would have resulted in a decline for the article during the draft stage. This is strongly discouraged. Narrative-style writing is against our neutrality policies. As it stands [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Mandahla_Rose&oldid=1285923807 at present], the article reads as unencylopaedic once again and may risk deletion. I have left a tag for Wikipedia's copyeditors to take a look. Kindly refrain from adding content which is against the manual of style and against the strict policies for biographies. Kind regards, Spinster300 (talk) 12:06, 17 April 2025 (UTC).
:::With all due respect, this is where Wikipedia ties itself up in knots. There's a note on the bottom of the page, still now, that says:'This article about an Australian actor is a stub. You can help Wikipedia by expanding it.' And yet any attempt to expand it results in notices like this. And, like I've said before, this article seems to be being held to higher standards than other articles, as plenty of other biographies are written in this style. It's impossible to find other biographies to use for reference as to writing style, as what has been allowed there is not allowed here. Please give examples of other biographies that are in an acceptable style. Whiterabbit6 (talk) 16:28, 18 April 2025 (UTC)
:::Just to add some examples, I can't see how this differs in style and tone to the bio articles of Chrystal Chappell, David Vanian or Guenevere Turner. For an example of a much longer biography of a household name that is in a similar style to this, see James Dean's biography. I can't actually find any that are in the style you refer to, to model this one on. Whiterabbit6 (talk) 16:38, 18 April 2025 (UTC)
::::Dear Whiterabbit6, I understand your frustration. I left the stub notice for editors to expand the article in a gainful manner as per Wikipedia policies. Please do not add back information that was previously problematic. There are no higher standards being applied to this article, or those of others, only the standard of the WP:BLP.
::::Also, thank you for bringing those articles to notice, and I will leave the correct notices on them as they also have multiple issues. Please always refer to WP:Good articles when trying to format and write a new article or expand an existing one – you can find a list of good articles per topic on that page.
::::In regards to subjective or narrative style prose on biographies of similar categories, we only add such context phrases when they have been widely reported in reliable sources. In the case of Dean's article, almost all of it is supported by very good, very widely published book sources. It is only then can we inform the reader of the person's personal struggles or typecasting in their work, because it is not Wikipedia saying it is so, but Wikipedia summarising that many reliable others have said so.
::::If you are able to provide published book sources for Rose's career narrative, that are in wide circulation, or news sources from publications within acting and Hollywood that are considered very reputable sources (think Deadline Hollywood, The Hollywood Reporter, or The Los Angeles Times, or the Sydney Morning Herald in her native Australia), only then can we consider including information about her struggles, networking, location change, or her playing roles to a type.
::::Such information from weaker sources is possible to be included (if it passes to be WP:Independent, but cannot be written in the PR-style prose that is it currently in, and needs to be rewritten in a dryer WP:SUMMARYSTYLE. I hope my explanation is useful. I do not wish to see the article deleted or be the subject of tedious discussion, and hence I suggest you make the improvements or cuts. Kind regards, Spinster300 (talk) 13:24, 21 April 2025 (UTC).
