PROD removed by apparent COI IP without comment or explanation. Non-notable racing driver; fails WP:GNG, WP:NMOTORSPORT. A driver who competes at local tracks only is rarely notable and there is insufficient media coverage to pass WP:GNG. simply WP:TOOSOON, when he makes it to the NASCAR "big three" then it can be recreated. The Bushranger One ping only 02:59, 23 January 2014 (UTC)

  • Delete per nom. Sources are inadequate for establishing GNG and he seems to fail WP:NMOTORSPORT. -Ad Orientem (talk) 06:02, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
  • Keep the claim to notability here is NOT his driving record - it's that he's an gay driver in a very male-dominated, testosterone-laced motorsport. As such, the need to fully meet the motorsport requirements are not applicable ES&L 09:36, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
  • That does not, however, remove the need to meet the WP:GNG - which is not met. - The Bushranger One ping only 02:50, 24 January 2014 (UTC)

  • Delete no indication of notability - fails NMOTORSPORT by a wide margin. He is a local driver in a mid-level division. I am familiar with the level at this track since I attended an event the La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway in 2013. Surely there are many gay drivers at this level in America. Don't meet GNG. Royalbroil 03:26, 24 January 2014 (UTC)
  • Following the Keep arguments, then he is strictly notable as a gay person, not as a racing driver. He misses the mark racing for notability by a wide margin. If he were racing in one of the big three NASCAR touring series (Cup, Nationwide, and Truck), then he'd have one sentence of content about his racing career. "Mullikin raced at La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway in the sportsman division from 2008 to 2014". That's it. See fellow Wisconsinite driver Travis Sauter for a comparison. For readers who don't understand NASCAR, there are probably tens to hundreds of thousands drivers in the United States who race at a higher level then he does. Why is he listed in Category:NASCAR drivers when he never raced in any NASCAR touring series? He didn't even win a championship in the lowest local series that NASCAR keeps track of? The minimum for that category needs to be someone who toured. Does anyone else see that he probably wrote the article for himself (User:Jmullikin11)? And I have inclusionist tendencies. • Keep, good deal of secondary source coverage. — Cirt (talk) 04:39, 24 January 2014 (UTC)
  • What secondary, reliable sources have you found to evidence this coverage, since none of it is currently in the article? - The Bushranger One ping only 05:37, 24 January 2014 (UTC)
  • Delete Obviously doesn't meet WP:NMOTORSPORT and I don't see evidence he meets WP:GNG.204.126.132.231 (talk) 20:24, 24 January 2014 (UTC)
  • Keep. I think the subject does meet GNG although the article needs clean-up work, but that is not a reason to delete it. A perfectly acceptable short article. Sportfan5000 (talk) 00:24, 1 February 2014 (UTC)
  • There are still no reliable sources in the article. Where are the reliable sources that prove WP:GNG is met? - The Bushranger One ping only 02:57, 1 February 2014 (UTC)
  • I consider interviews with the BLP subject themselves perfectly reliable. I found a few other sources after only a few minutes so others are available as well, in addition to the race results that he's been in. Sportfan5000 (talk) 03:06, 1 February 2014 (UTC)
  • That's not how reliable sourcing works. The work the interview is published in has to meet the reliable source criteria, which I'm almost certain none of the current sources do; there is also no breadth of coverage. "The race results that he's been in" are in local series only and contribuite nothing to notability. - The Bushranger One ping only 05:09, 1 February 2014 (UTC)
  • If the article is kept I will work to improve it, I do think at least some of the present sources are fine. No evidence those blogs are falsifying rather mundane information. Sportfan5000 (talk) 02:24, 2 February 2014 (UTC)
  • That's also not how the reliable source criteria works. If it's a newspaper or magazine "blog", then it can be acceptable. Other blogs are almost never reliable sources no matter how factual they may be, because the fact they are factual cannot be verified. - The Bushranger One ping only 02:40, 2 February 2014 (UTC)
  • I think you're mistaken but it may not matter at the point. Many blogs are perfectly acceptable and most news organizations have an official one as well as staffers who maintain their own. In any case let's see how this deletion effort goes first. Sportfan5000 (talk) 03:05, 2 February 2014 (UTC)
  • Delete Fails wikipedia's notability criteria. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 01:20, 1 February 2014 (UTC)
  • Delete, I find the arguments advanced under "Keep" above to be unpersuasive. It is asserted that there are sources that confer notability, but nothing substantial has been provided. I don't think he meets the WP:GNG at this time. Lankiveil (speak to me) 02:43, 2 February 2014 (UTC).

  • Delete I’m still trying to understand the notability criteria, but so far as I can tell (and for what my voice is worth), this person has not received substantial coverage in secondary sources. --Vindeniträden (talk) 23:20, 2 February 2014 (UTC)
