Subject fails GNG for not having WP:SIGCOV from WP:IS, WP:RS whereby the subject is talked about in length and depth for WP:V. Silver medalist for Judo Grand Prix in Hague does not qualify to meet GNG. Cassiopeia talk 23:34, 24 January 2025 (UTC)

  • Keep I've made significant changes to the article. He's not notable as a judoka, but I think 3 world championships in combat sambo is worthy of note. FWIW, he clearly meets WP:MANOTE. I admit I didn't go looking for coverage, but it's hard for me to believe that it doesn't exist in Russian sources. Papaursa (talk) 03:13, 25 January 2025 (UTC)
  • Comment. We have two keeps, Papaursa and the nominator, but I think this discussion should go on further, because none of the sources are independent or significant yet. Geschichte (talk) 11:09, 30 January 2025 (UTC)

  • Keep per nom, needs work with refs, but now meets notability. Nswix (talk) 14:51, 2 February 2025 (UTC)
  • Draftify. Sportspeople are required to have a citation to a source with IRS SIGCOV, regardless of achievement. If editors think he is notable from his meeting essay criteria then they have to provide sources demonstrating GNG. Draftification will give this a chance to happen. ::I understand your point, but I am unable to search Russian sources. It seems reasonable to me to presume that a 3-time world champion would have received coverage in his home country. There's no dispute about him winning those championships, and burying it as a draft seems likely to get the article deleted due to a lack of Russian speakers.
